    Pouring rain, lot of lightning and wind blowing up against the back of the house. This is the best rain we have had in about 3 weeks.

    Frederick hole here again. Squeezed out 0.06” out of that Severe warned storm for me. See some possible behind forming but am not holding out hope for any more.

    Finally getting some rain here. Wind is quite light for me under this warning.

    That would be a question for MDOT. They surveyed county residents about 2 years ago. And the response from them was, while they acknowledge that it needs to be widened there are other pressing projects that are needed. At least we got a new interchange at Rt 85. That used to be a daily accident zone with short merging lanes.

    And the further up 270 you go the worse it gets. 15 N seriously needs attention. Daily N and S from the 70 split to just pass Motter is a parking lot. I actually find myself going through downtown or to the East to get up to 26.

    Watching radar as stuff pushes across only to evaporate when it hits the mountains. The grass this year is not even trying to stay green. Seems every day bigger patches just go crunchy and brown. There is that one person in the neighborhood that is still watering but everyone else has just not even bothered.

    So went out to check my deck plants and realized it is not too bad out this morning. So decided that to get some fresh air would have breakfast on the deck. A simple omelet with garlic scapes and fresh apricots and blueberries with honey. With a grapefruit Kombucha. We have been members for close to 15 years now of a local CSA. The fruit and garlic scapes are just some of what we got from our weekly takings. If ever in Frederick Co take a trip down to Thanksgiving Farms on Rt 85 near Adamstown. While not certified organic they use organic practices. And their plant selection is amazing. The green house alone will draw in anyone who loves house plants. Hope all stay cool today and crossing fingers that we may get lucky with a storm or two. Not holding my breath on that one though.

    So will this cloud cover help us? Out on the deck and was surprised that it is not as humid as I thought it would be. Decent SW breeze also. 85/59.

    Oldest kid just had us look at the moon. If you have not already take a look.

    9:30 and my backyard station is at 90. Just went out to water my deck plants and front garden. The stuff out front is very heat and drought tolerant but want to give it a fighting chance.

    We have a 3 story TH. Have found that the house fan running all day keeps the 3rd floor cool. With the help of ceiling fans in all the bedrooms.

    97.3 feels like 109.3 in my corner of Frederick Co. All house blinds have been closed since yesterday so feels like we are living in a cave. But has allowed us to keep the air con at 72.

    Well crap! Sitting down in VA at the horse show and the Emergency Alert tune comes over WAMU for that tornado warning. Freaked me out as they have the incorrect information of location. Said North of Ballenger Creek near Harry Grove Stadium. My house is just south of that and reception has been spotty all day down here. So radar would not load up. Called kid at home to see if she got an alert. She said no. Told her about the warning and she looked at radar to see that the warning is down near Urbana. Way to give a mama an anxiety incident only to find out she is fine. Although looking West over the mountains down here it could get interesting.

    Currently sitting down at Upperville Horse Show in VA and we have a decent shower going on. What does it look like for down here this afternoon?

    My Dew pt is 73 currently. Just went out to organize my car for a horse show tomorrow. It is yuck out.

    Ok had to check here. One of my weather apps had me in the Tornado Warning. Oldest Ms. J came down as I was making dinner and asked me if I saw the weather info. Weather Network is alerting my area but after looking we are not under the warning.
