    NWS Baltimore just did a live Facebook information post. Being very concise and to the point about taking this system seriously. They said it was there first ever live post and I hope that many people have watched it.

    I got a SWS for that storm up in Washington Co. Under Damage threat it says Considerable. I am familiar with the new terms in the warnings so this caught my eye. Saying golf ball sized hail and 70 mph wind gusts

    The oldest kid just got an email from American U. She is not in summer classes but the email was to tell students on campus that things are shutting early today due to inclement weather.

    Thanks! She is 19 so I think I will tell her to take 2 hours out of her day and do the online course. I know we have a few NW DC folks in here. She goes to AU.

    Want to keep the severe thread clear so putting this here for more eyes. How old do you have to be a trained spotter? I am a spotter but my oldest has the same interest in weather that I do. I told her she should take the course and get trained. She goes to school in DC, will be moving back down there in 3 weeks, so splits her time between there and Frederick. I just looked and you can take the course online now if you cannot in person or virtual.

    Carrot just insulted me with a special weather statement. Actually has in it reviewing my sever weather protocol. And making sure flying objects are secured.

    81/73 dew, with light winds out of the SW. Scattered clouds. Am sitting out on my deck as it is still in shade till about noon. Not too bad in the shade right now. Can feel the humidity/dew though. All my conditions can be seen in the link in my posts for real time updates. Ballanger Creek Backyard Weather station.

    Sitting out on the deck this morning getting my meal plans done for the next two weeks. Not too bad out, but the deck is shaded in the morning as it faces NW. Brought the catio back out and the cats are happy. 80/73 currently with scattered clouds and sun. Slight wind from the W.

    I just put the catio out for the day. So that means I cancled any chances of storms for my area. And @MillvilleWx remember when I told you to drag back some weather from TX. You may have done good.

    Well we got a random pop up 2 min downpour last night around 7. Gave me .05. The older Ms J and myself got all excited, shows you how storm deprived we are. Have noticed in just the past 15 min while there are still clouds it is getting brighter out.

    Well knock me over it is actually raining here. Some thunder and lightning as well.

    I drive across to VA several times a week. I usually cross at the Brunswick and Point of Ricks bridges so I get a good view of the river below. It is low. Lower than I have remembered ever seeing it. You can actually see the green plants/Algae on top of the surface rocks. The younger Miss J commented to me that you could not go tubing or you would scrape your butt up. I had to agree with her. When we crossed over the Shenandoah last weekend on Rt 7 it was the same out there. The show we went to the ground was hard as concrete. All riders were told nothing more than a walk when outside of the rings. And absolutely no jumping outside of the rings. The grass in my neighborhood which had been holding on to some form of green has given up and now yards that are not watered and common spaces are brown and crunchy. We need some nice steady rain over this way. Not soakers as it will all just run off. As I sit on my deck I look at a sky that looks like it could rain. But I know it won’t.

    75 and cloudy with a brisk wind. Sitting on the deck waiting on dinner to cook. Will be eating outside.

    I ended with a whopping 0.11” over the last two days. Yes it has been a dry year for sure here in Frederick.

    Has gotten very windy over here. Winds have shifted to now coming out of NW. Down to 88. Clouds rolling in. Missed any rain but the cooler temps have come in.

    As I was watching FlightRadar 24, sorry am an aviation geek as well as a weather one. Noticed that all the big international flights were swinging way out west instead of flying just east of my house. This prompt to check radar. Mind you I have been avoiding checking radar as I do not want to be disappointed again. Upon logging in I see that all you folks to my East are in the running for some storms. Congratulations once again to you all. As you all are getting a downpour and sound and light show think of my parched flower beds over here.

    81/72/85 at 9:30. From my station back home. I am currently over in Loudoun Co VA. The younger Miss Aj has just finished one ride in on her horse. And we need to head down to school her pony in Aldi for kids. Trying to beat the bad heat.
