Would anyone really be shocked if a model run or two shows a decent snow up this way? I mean it's Sunday for a Thursday storm...this isn't locked in and yes it could get even worse.

Some aspect of it probably is

Why set up plow...do you also own a pothole repair company?

GEFS was in 100% agreement basically yesterday...I'm of the opinion any model run or ensemble is only telling you today what it thinks might happen and often that changes with each run. I'm certain they are useful for something but even if psu only had the gefs to look at yesterday he couldn't tell you what today's gfs would do. That said I do think its pretty remarkable the models gave the hint something was going to happen so long ago...but clearly the details even with Thursdays storm aren't clear until most models agree...anyone telling you what Thursday will be is giving an educated guess...we have a general idea right now but not a locked and loaded one. All my opinion of course and to reiterate i think the models ability to generate potential so far in advance is spectacular unfortunately we humans f it up by trying to out predict them

It dried up dramatically but that situation in very different than Thursday storm What's it gonna take for you to do your meltdown in the banter or panic thread or maybe make your own thread for it? You will get plenty of eyeballs on it i swear.

Its not coming out of nowhere you can clearly see it diving south eah run...Webb showed a graphic showing how that feature was diving in from the artic at breakneck speed. That's what is going to suppress this thing for central VA and Northern NC. I'm calling it now honestly...hopefully getting an inch or so on Thursday is my bar.

Euro gave up on the frozen precip idea in general I believe That's a pretty dramatic flip in one run. Good model

My biggest hope is that the euro has not been that great this year in general...hell it was giving me 4" of snow for Monday at 18z last night. Pretty sure it isn't now

It's just me but I'd rather be south than north with this one. There have been more runs from all models showing central Virginia hits since this thing became visible. Me personally I'd like tonight's 0z runs start to shift a little north...even the gfs..12z runs have to at least hold even the southern ones...I'd bet ji's new puppy if we see a south move at 12z it's going to be a death walk from there.
