  1. NAM FTW could probably be said about 70% of the time and the statrement be right :-). Euro showing 67 or 68 did seem extreme. PS, if M/D meant Mason Dixon we are already at 53. 7 degrees since 11AM. So we probably get 60 here but probably not MDT.
  2. Not sure about MDT but I think York, Lancaster....southern LSV....get near 60. No where near the upper 60's the Euro had but I think it beats lower 50's as well. Edit-I should add why I think it gets near 60 in the southern LSV. It is already in the 60's in SW PA and up to near Martinsburg, WV. If the "CAD" gives way in the LSV I think it sky rockets quickly. Could be totally wrong LOL but there is no cold air coming to temper the jump if it happens re: S/W PA.
  3. Yea, I think we hit or get within 2 degrees of 60 in a lot of locales today. Sort of a middle ground between the Nam and the Euro that everyone was comparing a few days ago. 50 here right now.
  4. I am worried about surface temps just like every year at this time. I would think we (especially down here but maybe even up there) will need a fairly wound up coastal to produce snow with the marginal temps. The LR placement of the lows is going to change every 6 hours. I do remember about 14-15 years ago turning on the TV in early April and hearing the weather channel blaring about a Winter Storm Watch on a day that was supposed to be in the 60's (forecast from a few days prior) so snow is never out of the picture until Mid to late April in my opinion. My next Florida trip leaves the evening of the 18th to return the 22nd so I may miss this last one if there is to be one.
  5. Are you a volunteer or paid firefighter? I have seen you referencing going to work before but did notice if you meant firefighting work.
  6. The NAM from a few days ago should have held its ground. Had mixed precip over the Northern part of the LSV.
  7. Yea and if I remember correctly the area I live in now really jackpotted. Will admit I did not miss shoveling 3 feet.
  8. LOL, yea but I did not have the sadness either. You cannot miss something you never had though we had about 1/4" of snow in 2010. But it was terrible being a snow lover. I followed many a storm on here from down there.
  9. Yea, Spring is the sad season if anything (for me). Fall is the "We are close" season.
  10. Down to snow piles here but spent the day driving around mountainous Northern Franklin and Fulton County and it is like a winter wonderland there. 6-12" snow pack, soft January like snow, snowmobilers galore. Was nice to see especially since it was so nice today so great to walk around a bit. Only that constant haze made it less than perfect. We went to Cowans Gap State Park and the large lake there is frozen solid at least 50 feet out (which is how far I ventured not wanting to risk it). The ice was "feet" thick. Could not see any water through throughout the whole lake.
  11. The haze out here, despite a good snow pack, is a sign the cold is losing out. Feels good out but going to miss snow chasing.
  12. Heard that there is a flash freeze like situation on route 30 for miles once leaving McConnellsburg and heading west. They had about an inch of snow and wet roads are now ice. Heard a scanner report. Google Maps shows it as a backup as well.
  13. Hanging on to moderate snow here. Measured about 1/2" now on top of cold surfaces.
  14. We are up to about 1/4" now. Mod snow. Only on cold surfaces of course.
  15. We have a nice new coasting on surfaces that still had snow. No accums anywhere else. Sn-. HRRR is suggesting the main area of snow will not get this far north this evening but it was wrong with this first area so anything is possible.
  16. Here is the RDPS output for snow and ice. So a bit of a difference it sounds like. HRDPS has even more snow and why I mentioned WSW but the map I looked at was TT so do not want to post a TT snow map. Either way I agree that temps are not overly cold.
  17. GFS is pretty close to the Euro as well with low 60's. Not sure that gives the Euro any extra credence. I wonder if they will need to do a WSW for the Northeast corner of PA say Williamsport east? The Canadian Hi Res also shows quite the winter mess there...2-4" of snow followed by ice. What does the Euro show up there now?
  18. Yea, I doubt you have too many issues. Temps in your area are 32-33ish. This is just one model as well but most are somewhat similar,
  19. Quoting the NAM, it would be snowing or freezing rain in Hazleton at midnight but not as early as sunset. Either way the temps are near freezing during the precip so doubt the roads are too bad vs. power lines and such. GFS is not as bad but still some frozen.
  20. Quite the ice storm for parts of SW, North and NE PA tomorrow night on the 12Z Nam. Fairly large areas of 1/2" or more of ice. Some snow as well (map 2).
  21. They are out preparing the roads for tomorrow (brining I guess it is called?).
