  1. Has anyone mentioned what the lowest high temp, at MDT, is for August? I am not sure.
  2. Thanks, I am fine I just have to stop weather for awhile. I only do winter weather for the most part :-). My memory is surely off but do not remember many Augusts like the last half of this August. If it were raining all day that would be one thing but this is highs in the 70's with full sun. Dog Days my ass!
  3. Been on hiatus but stopped back in to say how amazing it is. Saving electric as well.
  4. Have not stopped in a while but figured the board would be popping with the heat. Being saved by high clouds here. Only 90 with a heat index of 97.
  5. I think they issued some type of flood advisory for that finger of rain.
  6. I think the larger issue is real feel per se. Yesterday was supposed to be a pleasant summer day with moderate temps in the low 80's (actually the day before they had us pegged in the upper 70's) and a nice wind to really keep things cool. The winds never really materialized at the rate advertised and it went into or almost in the 90's everywhere making it feel like a fairly brutal day so the degrees of bust was not as important as losing out on a nice day before the coming heat wave.
  7. Glad I am not the only one pointing it out. We can blame the NWS but all they do is use models for guidance so that is where the blame lies IMO.
  8. Got up to 91 today! I saw what looked like straight line or small tornado damage just south of the Mason Dixon North of Hagerstown.
  9. I actually ran into some in Emmitsburg, MD so a bit south of CTP. Ducked under a gas station overhang. Pea size but coming down fast so very loud.
  10. I did not see any of it as I was south of town at that yesteryear Antique place. I just know they had 194 North closed and the cop said they were doing it out of precaution because the hail was so bad over near the mall.
  11. Left the house this AM with a 30% chance of scattered thunderstorms and was in Hanover around 3:30PM and the cops are closing 194 into town because of hail damage and a reported funnel cloud as a derecho is bulldogging the whole LSV. Our forecast products have been worse than bad lately. They are misleadingly bad. Temp dropped from 92 to 68 in 45 min. Impressive.
  12. One thing they have down to a science is snow measurement though. They are the best in the business! Especially the MDT chapter.
  13. I cannot remember the last time I was in an area with several different Flash Flood Watches where it was not at least cloudy most of the time. I understand the one big bust like we see a lot in the winter but this was a whole week of busts that they just kept doubling down on. I do understand that people to my north did get some rain but for the most part the Watch for the LSV was one 4-5 day stretch of bad forecast after bad forecast and the GFS/FV3 saw it coming and they still kept throwing the watches out there. LOL.
  14. Its not 4th of July if it is anything other than hot and humid! PS, after the flood watch debacle from last week I am taking any and all warnings and watches, from CTP, with a grain of salt.
  15. Ha. I actually have a white noise machine but it cannot compare to the sound of a humming A/C unit. Drowns out all the other noise/
  16. I always sleep better in motels that have the old fashioned large units sitting under a window. Free white noise.
  17. Me too on the air though I keep mine at 73....my air has been on almost every day for the last several months. On another subject, we received more rain last night, about 3/4", than the previous 3 weeks combined. The flood watch finally paid off just a week late.
  18. PLEASE send it down here. We are tired of having to go out and water the plants almost every day. I would have to look back but I do not think we have had an inch of rain in the last 2-3 weeks combined.
