  1. It is going to be better next week. The cut off for this map was Tue AM. With the rain/precip coming Sun/Mon it is going top lose a lot of colors.
  2. Why put the loon bin up here? To him, every corner has a villain around it.
  3. Sorry, I forgot. next time just say you want the drought map. The 'Ville (millers) still banging a D2. Drought cancelling schools now. Northeast Drought Summary Most of the Northeast this week had temperatures within 5 degrees of normal, mostly on the colder side. Northeast Maine and West Virginia finished the week 5-10 degrees colder than normal. Downwind of Lake Erie, more heavy snow fell during the last week, which combined with previous snows led to the removal of abnormal dryness in Pennsylvania’s Erie County and southwest New York. In these areas, the recent snowfall led to improvements in groundwater and streamflow. Due to lessening precipitation deficits, moderate drought was slightly reduced in coverage in south-central New York, where around or just over an inch of precipitation fell. Elsewhere across the region, severe and extreme short- and long-term drought continued across southern New England. The lack of snowfall has disrupted ski resort operations in parts of Vermont, while a water system failure amid very low water supply in Whitehall, New York, led to a school cancellation and the shutting off of water in the village.
  4. He called me at my house once....which was slightly worrisome. Pre-cell days
  5. That is like one of his posts from year 2000.
  6. One of the articles I read commented that one of the graduations was happening that weekend which was part of the hotel spike in cost.
  7. Later in the interview, Rendell began to argue with chief meteorologist John Bolaris about how much snow had fallen in Philadelphia. Bolaris said that there was actually seven inches of snow on the ground at 7 p.m., but Rendell disagreed. "No, that was at 8:30 according to FEMA," Rendell argued. "This is no way, shape or form a blizzard!"
  8. The column is retreating as the precip arrives so a hard sell down here. If we can hold temps above us a bit then game on!
  9. If you get 1-2 feet of snow you may need to plunk down 3K for the room.
  10. If PSU loses because of the snow, I do not want to hear one peep about it :-). Maybe Rendell can charge in and postpone the game?
  11. It would be ironically funny if something tracked to drop 1-2 feet at State College on the 21st.
  12. The predictable top reactions across the site so far: Those in the 2-5 foot area: This will never happen, we never get snow like that Those outside the 2-5 foot snow area" It is going to happen, it never snows here and snows everywhere else.
  13. Kuch is 54-56" in NJ on the GFS. As mentioned by others as well, this is more like Boxing day but has a Jan 2000 tinge to it.
  14. EB nooners. 34 with sustained winds in the upper 20's and low 30's and a top gust of 48 which is higher than the last wind event over here.
  15. The Texans will enjoy the mild breezes in Dubois. “A lot of hotel rooms available in Altoona and Lewistown and Williamsport and Clearfield and DuBois,” Smith said. “If you’re willing to travel that far, there’s still some pretty attractive rates in those communities.”
  16. Looks like if you are willing to part with over $1650 a night you can still get a room at the Country Inn but have to do 2 nights. One night no longer available.
  17. May be due to a lack of rooms/hotels and Gallon Sized Hat and Buckle Texans coming to town. I looked this Am and all hotels were booked except 3 that were around 1K per room.
  18. State College Country Inn and Suites is 2500 for the night of Dec 21st.
  19. Main shield has wrapped up here. About 1.5" for the day and down to 35 degrees.
