  1. We find that (even away from the river) when it gets hot, we prefer at least a windy day to try and keep the bugs away a bit. If a warm, calm day it is sometimes not fund to take the walk.
  2. We have to keep the mint potted otherwise it takes over. Our strawberries have been doing well here too. We have one pepper plant that we take in for the winter then bring it back out in the summer. Will be year 4 of a harvest soo...from the same plant. Not many skeeters here yet. I would think, with proximity to the Susq, you would always have more.
  3. Our potted plants/veggies are the ones that are drying out the same day I water them. Mint especially.
  4. We watered twice yesterday. In the AM and by the time we got home late afternoon, some of the veggies were wilting. Imagine in California where none of this watering can happen. Last year it was early June where I went back to mowing every other week. It almost has to rain every other day to stop it from happening.
  5. I am stuck on mow 7. If mid week does not work out, I may still be in single digits going into July. There is a small patch in the back that is more shaded and it needed a trim up but not counting that.
  6. Same time frame but 18Z. One of the hottest maps ever printed out for the MA in June. You waste so much angst when you win 9 out of 10 times in this new hot world we live in. LOL
  7. Just for fun, +300 Hr GFS has MDT at 67 and Pitt near 90.
  8. Plus, sun wise, it is worse on the grass now than in August.
  9. Yep, if we do not get into a sequence of rain every few days, mowing season is going to come to a crawl.
  10. Tue rain looking a lot less healthy as to a frontal passage. Wed or Thur look better now. Hope the can does not keep getting kicked down the road. Already close to stopping mowing.
  11. It has really calmed down now. We have wind chimes and the racket is a pain sometimes. 76.
  12. It is mucho windy over here. Almost chilly in the shade. Sustained in the low 20's for stretches and 60 degrees.
  13. Wunderground shows mid 50's just north of Harrisburg. 55 here.
  14. Already down to 61. Perfect windows open night.
  15. Yea, no where near as hot as that over here. Our AC did not kick on until late afternoon. I checked Cashtown and he got to 79. It is already down to 74. In the 60's just north of me.
  16. 77 for the high today in Rou'Ville. Spot on call by the NWS. MDT snuck an 81.
  17. Just close the windows when we get our rain (please).
  18. Warmies delight mid month. But that back door front is not too far away. Potential triple digits with the ridge in that position.
