  1. Me too. 70 is too warm in the winter. You come in from the outside and it feels like an oven.
  2. I have one friend (couple) that keeps their house at 78 all year long. They live in Florida now, but they used to live in Carlisle. Imagine trying to keep a house at 78 on electricity in the winter?
  3. That is your mowing plans, DP, outside and inside air temp we have so far. What temp does the turkey have to be before bringing out?
  4. It actually feels kind of good except when you are sick...then it is way too cold. We keep our house at 65 though I do not force it down when it gets into the upper 60's during warmish days like today. Once it hits 70, A/C is on, or windows/doors open depending how humid it is out. Our summer A/C (electric) bills are not ideal.
  5. I am going to my brothers today and he keeps his house at 62. LOL
  6. Ducking my head for the hate, the low in the 'Ville was 32 and it is currently 35. It is 67 in the house. Plenty of upper 30's and 40 temps in Adams county just to my east.
  7. Happy Thanksgiving to most...but I have my eye on you CTP Met's. You have tacked on 6 Cooling degrees days this month. If I see just one more CDD, you are out on your cans!
  8. In theory, would"t running ones A/C with bad insulation make the local area even cooler when all that non insulated air flows outside? Damn you butterfly effect! Does our snow rely on people who keep their house at 65? Crank it does felllas!
  9. Lol. I could open some windows if I want a temp drop right now.
  10. Depends on what you keep the house at, but it is 69 in my place right now after a high of 61 here today. Nothing to do with insulation, just body heat, cooking heat, etc.... My AC has not been on for a couple weeks but if it gets up near 70 outside it will be on as my house will be "in the 70's" with no AC.
  11. I hope I will as well. I do not treasure running AC in Dec. It is time to start enjoying winter once Dec 1 hits.
  12. I kept mine uncovered because it appears it will be needed sometime in the next couple weeks.
  13. 18Z models general LSV Temp forecast for tomorrow (upping 1-3 based on recent trends): Turkey Bowl 10-11:30AM Football games: 45-50 1-3PM Lunches: 55-60. 4-7PM Dinner: 52-44 THV has gone from 61-31 in the last 4 hours. 30-degree temp drop with no front passage to blame. Just dry air.
  14. I had posted that map showing some areas were in the low 40's this AM while 15 miles were 20's. The atmospheric cap did not break for some last night. THV is at 60 and their low was 23.
  15. Wow, what a rise today. Some stations are getting near +40 off their lows. THV is +37 right now. Our zones said high of 54 this AM. They adjusted them up this afternoon.
  16. Nooners, Sunny and light breeze....55 and quite nice out.
  17. The SER beats it back for a bit on this run, but it is close enough to smell the cold air.
  18. Surface temps are "tempered" on the GFS due to help from our Northeast so it may not be too bad at the Surface. Some chilly days near or BN and some 50's and low 60's mixed in when get into a stronger SW flow.
  19. This 12Z GFS 850 anomaly map is a quick look at why snow here on week one of Dec does not look great right now as Blizz mentioned (for most of the East even to our North.) Those temps are in Celsius. Even if we get help from the Atlantic keeping Surface temps more normal, that is frying up above. As usual this is a prog discussion and not a forecast. Lots of ridging over us during this time.
  20. Harden seems like he is cold a lot. Dude wears heavy coats everywhere. What a mess the Net's are... Irving and KD looked terrible.
  21. Outside travel issues for Christmas, it would be great to get a great pattern and at least one moderate snow in the second/third week of Dec time frame.
