  1. I doubt they just let people sit in the cold but cannot imagine what it is like for people tasked with it. They are hero's for going out in weather like that.
  2. I hope not. It is bad timing temp and holiday wise.
  3. Hrrr has temps drop out of the 50's at Mdt around 4am then below freezing around 8am. Below 10 around noon.
  4. Lol, so that explains the day being off. I thought that was for tomorrow. Sneaky!
  5. They are a day off with their mention of Christmas day but pretty good depiction otherwise. Crazy day tomorrow. There might be an off ball 60 degree reading in Eastern Lanco tonight.
  6. 0Z HRRR dropped several degrees in some places. From -1 to -3 near here. Too cold. 4 degrees at MDT at 5PM.
  7. Very heavy rain about to move back into the SW area of the LSV (next hour or so, in N Md.). Up to 40 here.
  8. LOL, that is damn funny re: the 18Z Euro. LOL. It is rolling early today! LOL
  9. We get another hour or two of this rain and some streams are going to be going over. 1.2" total now.
  10. We have received a good 3/4" of rain since 3PM. Rain + right now.
  11. Wind has picked up quite a bit here and the rain is now moderate to heavy and driving into the house from the East. It is REALLY crappy out now. LOL
  12. Down to just snow patches here as a "heavy drizzle" and 37 degrees takes its toll.
  13. Why the turkey? LOL. Do Turkeys remember numbers well?
  14. That would be a good idea to fix the average. Both figures could still be recorded (the weighted average you propose and actual highs and lows) with the current data, but if it is 55 at LNS or MDT at midnight, it looks like a short heatwave in what was really a wintery two-day period. This is one of those issues that is really not an issue in the big scheme of the world, but we spend some much time talking anomalies here, this is a bit of an issue in really relying on the actual weather of the past. With all this said, Friday could end up being one of the top differences between high and low for a day when all said and done.
  15. It may be remembered by you but someone just reviewing records could see mid 50's at LNS for both days. It is deceiving as you said.
  16. @Itstrainingtime, on the subject of the good records you keep, if the HRRR is right your first snow of the year and possibly coldest day of the year will go both down as being +10 AN Highs for those days. I really dislike those midnight highs as they mask weather when looked at years in the future.
  17. The HRRR has most of the LSV getting up to the low to mid 50's overnight. Will see how that works out.
  18. We ended up less than 2" but caught up to you a bit. It is bright out now, so the snow has melted off the roads...36 degrees.
