  1. https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=Kmdt You can change the last 3 letters to any station....LNS, MUI, THV, etc. (for anyone else seeing this link, I know you know that).
  2. I was just enjoying the nerdy component of the discussion. That WPC map made it a bit confusing as it showed the front in the Lehigh Valley at 7AM. That seems to have been a bit quick.
  3. MDT just had a gust to 45. Already down to 21 here.
  4. Yea, I was not trying to be persnickety, sorry. To me it looked like the front passed Harrisburg before 8AM. I had initially said it looked like it was in NJ but then I did see the WPC map was an estimate so I yanked that misconception, sorry. I do believe it takes a period of time from front passage for temps mixing down to the surface.
  5. I was reading the surface ob's at MDT as well. The DP started dropping slightly before 8 so that would indicate the front had passed to me. But this is interesting as there is always a delay in temp drop from what I have seen. HRRR has back building of precip well after the front, so I was not just counting on the precip. HRRR has precip in MDT still at noon which is way past the front.
  6. So, you are looking at a +50 drop today if the HRRR is right having you at 0 at midnight. Impressive.
  7. SPC/WPC is insisting the front is entering NJ right now FWIW. Wind direction here changed about 2 hours ago. Not that it really matters but the delay in temp drop is interesting.
  8. The second/reinforcing front looks to come through around 7PM (MDT)
  9. The front itself is well past Harrisburg per SPC and wind direction ob's but the temps always lag a bit behind it. I bet you are below freezing by 10 or 10:30. Winds took on a more westerly component at LNS around 8:20.
  10. Latest SPC (WPC actually I guess) Map which is actually a couple hours behind.
  11. SPC and Surface Ob's suggest the front is in Eastern PA/ NJ right now.
  12. At the very least, the saturated ground is going to freeze like it has not in quite some time.
  13. It was 36 here at 8:20. It is now 32 with a gust of 38 recently. LOTS of water still on the roads....creek at the Rouzerville park is over its banks but not on the road.
  14. Will see how it goes but all the recent HRRR's juice up the front as it passes the LSV.
  15. To me the only saving grace is that the temp drop is a bit delayed for an hour or two once the precip is by. It gets below freezing but not way below until closer to lunch.
  16. Very similar totals here....just dropped another 1/4" in the last hour and over 2.5" now, mostly rain. Roads are very wet...hoping the wind dries them a bit in the next 2-3 hours. 6Z HRRR drops a fresh coat of 1/2-1" of snow in the Eastern LSV.
  17. On Jan 19th, 1994 MDT's high temp for the day was -1...meaning it stayed below 0 all day. Dec wise, the lowest high temp at MDT is in 1917 when it only got to 5,7 and 8 for highs over a span of 3 days of Dec 29, 30 and 21. I do wonder if it gets to 0 at LNS before midnight, would the 57 degree 12-hour drop be a record? The record high for tomorrow/ Christmas Eve is 15 and that may be in trouble as could the record low of -1 possibly be broken.
  18. Steep drop still back in SW PA. Snow does not look too impressive at current. Wish it was not raining though...
  19. I had not noticed many models showing sustained over 35 though. Fingers crossed we do not get that.
