  1. This is spot on. Disney is being taken out to the woodshed with their star wars land not doing anything near what they expected. To counter it a bit I would be afraid to tell anyone the coast is clear right now either. I was supposed to go to the billmar earlier next week but pulled out myself. Should be some good deals for last minutes deals that locals can snag.
  2. I do not wish pain for Florida but maybe it would stop a few of these 'the icon is crap' posts. Especially embarrassing from a red tagger.
  3. I was in Florida for Matthew, about 40 miles inland, and we had nothing more than a few sprinkles. An east coast grazer will cause damage right on the coast of Florida but is a non event for most of the peninsula. Man, if the Euro is right there is a chance for more than rain here. If Dorian starts meandering up the coast and maintains intensity it could be pulled in just like any other low in the winter. Phase and Susq. Valley is getting a Hurricane. Rehoboth Beach is no picnic either. Today's models have really sent the alert out to the whole eastern seaboard up into Nova Scotia.
  4. Here I am watching Dorian model runs for all the vested Florida interests I have and suddenly there is a better than slight chance that THIS sub forum gets worse effects than Florida...an actual chance to talk about the slight possibility of a trough capturing Dorian and pulling it into the Chesapeake or a bit farther north.
  5. Thanks. Glad you and most of the rest of the gang is still here. I tend to not post so much during the winter. Trying to keep up takes a lot of time.
  6. Has anyone mentioned what the lowest high temp, at MDT, is for August? I am not sure.
  7. Thanks, I am fine I just have to stop weather for awhile. I only do winter weather for the most part :-). My memory is surely off but do not remember many Augusts like the last half of this August. If it were raining all day that would be one thing but this is highs in the 70's with full sun. Dog Days my ass!
  8. Been on hiatus but stopped back in to say how amazing it is. Saving electric as well.
  9. Have not stopped in a while but figured the board would be popping with the heat. Being saved by high clouds here. Only 90 with a heat index of 97.
  10. I think they issued some type of flood advisory for that finger of rain.
  11. I think the larger issue is real feel per se. Yesterday was supposed to be a pleasant summer day with moderate temps in the low 80's (actually the day before they had us pegged in the upper 70's) and a nice wind to really keep things cool. The winds never really materialized at the rate advertised and it went into or almost in the 90's everywhere making it feel like a fairly brutal day so the degrees of bust was not as important as losing out on a nice day before the coming heat wave.
  12. Glad I am not the only one pointing it out. We can blame the NWS but all they do is use models for guidance so that is where the blame lies IMO.
  13. Got up to 91 today! I saw what looked like straight line or small tornado damage just south of the Mason Dixon North of Hagerstown.
  14. I actually ran into some in Emmitsburg, MD so a bit south of CTP. Ducked under a gas station overhang. Pea size but coming down fast so very loud.
  15. I did not see any of it as I was south of town at that yesteryear Antique place. I just know they had 194 North closed and the cop said they were doing it out of precaution because the hail was so bad over near the mall.
  16. Left the house this AM with a 30% chance of scattered thunderstorms and was in Hanover around 3:30PM and the cops are closing 194 into town because of hail damage and a reported funnel cloud as a derecho is bulldogging the whole LSV. Our forecast products have been worse than bad lately. They are misleadingly bad. Temp dropped from 92 to 68 in 45 min. Impressive.
