  1. Maryland just closed all restaurants. Take Out still allowed.
  2. I will add one thing to your comment if you mean 401K/retirement next eggs. I understand the fear in seeing the funds go down but unless one is in their 60's I would just stop checking the 401K web sites and ignore the total. It means nothing when it is high and means nothing when it is low...it only matters when you go to pull money out. I think we are still at the point where things "could" start going back to normal in two weeks if cases level off but it will be hard while we keep hearing stories about what is going on in Europe.
  3. Skipping summer to me meant going to school until July and then a very short break. I did not mean straight through. As far as family vacations outside the economic issues with that I am not sure that really matters if we get into a situation like Italy. Many people will be out of work, many others afraid to travel, etc...unless the virus dials back during the summer I am not sure many will go on vaca at this point any way.
  4. I heard rumor of skipping summer (seriously). NBA talking about the same thing. Finishing season in June and July. One thing I do not think will go well is teleschool/remote school. Whether they just ignore it and pass everyone on is another story.
  5. Getting hard to grasp all the things this can effect. Courts? Mail? Drivers Licenses? Taxes?
  6. Some areas may get into the mid 20's tonight but probably not Harrisburg.
  7. Eating establishments here are also packed. Road is a little less busy that normal. Just drove by an ice cream store and the line was out the door. People are apparently going out more thinking they are going to be ordered in soon. 4 counties in Eastern PA are about to go under recommended shut in.
  8. The Blizz maps do not portray this but in all seriousness could one imagine the chaos if a real HEC's came to visit over what seems to be a whole month of "stay in place" life coming up for America? The bread and milk are already gone!
  9. Just had a wind gust of 48 and it is 71 degrees...11 over forecast.
  10. Maryland just closed all schools though most of the month. Might have been some spring break time already lined up in some of the schools.
  11. Will cost towns and sports teams 1 Billion plus. Quite the incredible event on going.
  12. Too bad you did not print out all GFS 10 day snow maps from this winter.
  13. I do not post on any other boards so this is off topic but the NHL, NCAA and NBA playing the rest of their games with no fans? Wow. If that plays out it is really something to tell the grand kids.
  14. My brother works for the place that publishes the Old Farmers Almanac so if I start dishing out bits of extra info for next winter you guys know it is from a reliable source that trumps any 10 day digital snow map.
  15. I just use the word storm interchangeably with a precip event. I will say that this area is only 4 years removed from a super Hec's so its not like it has been decades since a big snow.
  16. .4" seems to be the number for this storm. If someone gets that total I will marvel at the prognostication abilities of those that called for it.
  17. Well the GFS is still trying to give the LSV some parting gift flakes this Sunday to usher out the "Winter Season of 19/20" but al other guidance I saw, especially the EC, takes precip well south of us.
  18. There is a chance that the Feb thread from this year is the shortest ever so we were just trying to shovel the terrible truth under a pile of extra posts.
  19. I have no doubt that some of the difference between there and here can be attributed to happiness of lifestyle. If I had to live in Northern VA or Southern MD I would always be grouchy as well with real estate taxes of 10+ a year, middle class housing costing 300-700K, traffic, and having the plan to go get a pizza by judging how many hours the traffic, pizza line and wait for it to be made will be.
  20. I just went back and saw the new thread announcement from Mag. I was wondering why Blizz was not posting the GFS snow maps. It was just me being oblivious.
  21. And it is much more humid today of course. My "take the cover off the A/C unit" thoughts are starting to stir.
  22. Its warmer here now than it was yesterday at this time...66. We did not get to 70 yesterday but a little more sun and maybe we do today.
  23. Wow, I did not know parts of Lancaster county had that much. I thought it was mostly localized to York. But yea that event is pretty much it and if I remember correctly it was pretty much a surprise that you guys ended up with the rates to get it. Pivotal picked the perfect year to offer free Euro, for our own pockets, as there was absolutely no urge to buy.
