This is one of the rare (in memory) times the last few years that a solution was shown, it went away, and then came back...in this case a more wintery vs. dry or wet day tomorrow. Saturday looked quite wintery several days ago and slowed leaked to almost nothing...and is now back in full force.

It was 29 here the last storm and roads were fine. But like you said, heavy snow could change that...or heavy sleet.

I think part of my reasoning is that if we used forecasters it would not be as fun of a hobby (for some.) re: if someone is just parroting DT or MU is that really fun when it comes to informing friends and family? This is specific to the question from festus, where would you get info to pass to others. Frankly WGAL, which I have on in the back ground most nights, gives as much or more detail as any other forecaster. They are the "weather authority" for TV around here. LOL.

I agree with your assessment in sentence 1. WGAL is the most watched and listened to weather "forecaster" in the area. Many people who just want to know the weather for their daily needs would not like the dry and often changing NWS Zone forecasts and do not know how or want to look at the AFD. I always assumed most here use models vs. forecasters.

Look at the heavy snow in south and central Lanco for Sat on the 18Z GFS. Does not match that map you posted. Weird.

Sitting here on the line we just picked up a 48 in PA and 51 in Pen Mar, MD. Rare that I get higher readings at the Pen Mar location due to trees so it truly is windy.

GFS LR fantasy ***** For the first morning of Met Spring it is 8 in Lanco with 8-12" of snow sitting on the ground.

Yea, there used to be a liquor store right before the bridge that was a mad house on weekends.

Not sure it intends the ENTIRE month but the possibility 0f -40's to -50 in the heartland is pretty astonishing.

Cold is (too) fearsome on the GEM. The end of Feb is going to but some people into the spring fling mood.

Unlike yesterday (I think) no energy diving in to tug...a slp sitting in the gulf south of the Panhandle of Florida is a fine position if have anything to pull it a bit. Not this time though.
