  1. I'll give you that one. Kids worst nightmare, anything which prevented the largest hill in the neighborhood from being slick as hell. To make matters worse they'd do a double-drive-by/extra sand/salt to make sure they killed my dreams...
  2. Actually I think every subforum was combined...or just about.
  3. 6abc/accu weather not too long ago. I'll sign and let's get this show on the road...
  4. I just want 12.1" to say I received over a foot. I'm a simple guy...
  5. Define frequent? Seems vague... *I understand you did not make the definition of a blizzard
  6. Chains actually work pretty well. Never went through the hassle of studded/spiked tires...not sure if they are still legal in certain states? Probably mess up the road.
  7. Exactly my point. It's a very solid storm on the weekend w/the NFC/AFC championship games being played. I couldn't have a more lazy day planned...
  8. Remember this...literally, what the hell did that achieve?
  9. And super cold so no stickage problems. I don't think salt works (or not as well) under 20F (?, could be wrong) and have no clue how brine handles <20F temps...
  10. I'm quite amazed how down people are? Maybe not a all-timer but a damn nice storm. Most don't have to worry about work/driving, AFC/NFC championship games are on so basically you can drink/eat yourself silly and watch the snow fall and football all day long. Borderline heaven if you ask me...
  11. Believe it or not, just N of Philly was the "line" back in the day. Sometimes it panned out, sometimes it didn't. Now it never pans out. If Philly turns over so am I about a hour later. But I78 was never "the line". Hell, when I was young I wouldn't know where the Fvck I78 was located. Probably would have asked my Mother or Father...
  12. I know what you're talking about. I78 was never mentioned years back...Iceman is a younger lad.
  13. We always hear pinging way earlier than predicted. Even the local burbs in Bucks/Mont counties. Once Philly hears pinging I know in about an hour or two so will I...
  14. 41F/calm @ 5:20pm Thurs and still a decent amount of snowpack in all areas. So snow on snow is a go this weekend. Hard to believe we're about to get plastered with snow and frigid temps in 48 hours or so...
  15. Sounds like shoveling hell....aching body/back.
  16. That's copy/paste from google. Maybe toward the coast 35mph but inland I'm a little skeptical...
  17. I doubt we hit 35mph at all unless it becomes real wrapped up... What are the criteria for a blizzard? Officially, the National Weather Service defines a blizzard as a storm which contains large amounts of snow OR blowing snow, with winds in excess of 35 mph and visibilities of less than 1/4 mile for an extended period of time (at least 3 hours).
  18. Cecily's first call 1m ago. She usually does a live facebook each day at 4:30pm and goes through models. https://www.facebook.com/search/top?q=cecily tynan
  19. They are currently going through the 5 steps of grief but at different stages at various rates. Some are actually already at step 5. "3-5 inches isn't that bad" Denial: "This can't be happening to me," a defense mechanism to process overwhelming news. Anger: "Why is this happening to me?" Blaming others or feeling rage. Bargaining: "I'll do anything if this isn't true," making deals with a higher power. Depression: "I'm too sad to do anything," profound sadness and hopelessness. Acceptance: "It's going to be okay," coming to terms with the reality of the loss.
  20. This will be the light/easy stuff unless sleet/FZ covers. Much more fun and enjoyable. May even be able to partake in a couple while shoveling...
  21. Fine by me. Here's my post the other day. And I even said an extra Hail Mary last night before bed....
  22. My O' my how the mood has changed in here after one run...
