  2. Let me try and bring some sanity to the next 2 weeks. I will use the Euro but the results will be the same with all the other models. 3. Not for me. I can’t get past the fact that an entire film crew, a few trucks, jeeps, and a bus are watching them risk their lives.
  4. OK I just have to ask. The warning says: An Extreme Cold Warning has been issued for Umiat and the Western Arctic Plains until 10 PM tonight. What will occur at 10:01 in the midst of what I assume is around 20+ hours of darkness that will allow the extreme cold warning to expire?
  5. This is a good look for you. A word of advice. Keep your tongue off of the metal flagpole.
  6. One model Way too cold for families to ride out in tents. Obvious solution is to use large buildings with heat as shelters. Schools, churches, etc. If it gets as cold and windy as the models forecast some people will die in tents.
  7. Don’t forget March 1960. Good snows only 65 years ago. I still hear about those three Wednesdays and that we get our biggest snows in March.
  8. Damn. You must be one tough dude. No way am I standing outside naked waiting for an icing event.
  9. Well you know the old saying about December fogs. A morning fog in Decembers means it is too damn warm to snow. Now we also have the new saying updated for the times in which we live. Fog in December, weatherman dismember.
  10. Five years!! Five years with crappy winters!! Will you please start worrying so we can get some snow!!!! Mid to Long Range Discussion ~ 2024 Met1985 replied to buckeyefan1's topic in Southeastern States We will continue to see swings and adjustments. Not worried at all at this point. Looks like the pattern will reload. 2023-2024 Fall/Winter Mountain Thread Met1985 replied to The Alchemist's topic in Southeastern States A really weird run from the Euro. Doesn't really drop the hammer with the second system at all. I'm not worried. It will change again tonight. 2022-2023 Fall/Winter Mountains Thread Met1985 replied to BlueRidgeFolklore's topic in Southeastern States Remember we still have January and February to come. Those months are prime climo. Im not worried at all. December 19, 2022 2021-2022 Fall/Winter Mountains Thread Met1985 replied to BlueRidgeFolklore's topic in Southeastern States One thing that seems off about some of the model runs is that it shows heavy snow to heavy freezing rain from one frame to another back to heavy snow. To me that is off and that is telling me there is some feedback issues with the surface to precipitation outputs. Not that im worried 2021-2022 Fall/Winter Mountains Thread Met1985 replied to BlueRidgeFolklore's topic in Southeastern States Meh we will just see how things work out. Im not too worried at all. Just interesting that's all. These storms have a mind of there own. 11. Bad news. I developed a formula(see below) that allows me to change the model data at will. Just trying to give the forum a Christmas present. No way it will happen.
  12. If you have been coming here for 10 to 15 years and only posted 120 times, all I can say is ………………… we will miss you.
  13. I don’t see the need. Forum isn’t very active and if it gets active it won’t be about a torch.
  14. Wasted that one. We usually see that type of temperature rise in the hours before a large coastal begins to move across northern Florida/southeast Georgia and up the coast. At least I think they used to do that. It’s been so long I’m not sure.
  15. 17.4º here this morning. Easily the coldest here so far.
  16. My big observation today is that they are brining the interstates in Davidson county. Slight chance of flurries tonight. ROFL. The brine is probably 4 years old so they just said, “What the hell, use it. We need the space.”
  17. I would love to be there. Different type of snow though. If you sneeze in the right direction you would clear your driveway.
  18. This isn’t your fathers climate anymore. If you’re not a kid you may remember that from an Oldsmobile commercial,
  19. I’m sorry but I have trademarked the term LaNada in perpetuity to describe southeast snowfall. My attorney will be contacting Mr Brown shortly.
  20. Don’t worry. I’m sure the Gods will make it up to you by starting spring a few weeks early.
