    I’ll be making love with my wife at the clock change. At my age it is the only time all year I can still go for over an hour. BTW, we did the same thing when the millennium changed. Try and beat that.

When you can explain why a round pizza is packed into a square box and served as a triangle you will finally understand women.

    Not a spec of snow to be seen on the ground here. Kind of bizarre. Had about a half inch total yesterday and this morning but even with temps in the upper 20s and full cloud cover it started to disappear even while it was still snowing a bit. An hour later it was all, and I mean all, gone. Even in the spots shaded by bushes and buildings.

    Yep. That’s how my dad taught me to drive in NJ. He was a state trooper. He took me into a huge parking lot and had me accelerate to about 30 MPH. Then he reached over and yanked on the steering wheel and said straighten it out boy. Did it for several hours. It was amazing how much better I was at controlling skids at the end of those few hours than I was at the beginning,

    All these maps and wordy forecasts I feel I need to jump in with my own. After living here for decades I have honed my winter weather forecasts to be as concise as possible. I-85

    Go and let him stay. In 20 years he can tell the story to his kids about how his crazy parents went all the way to Canada while he stayed home and enjoyed the largest snow/ice storm in Raleigh this century. Seriously, go and don’t worry. He is 18 and responsible and could be doing something a lot more worrisome.
