    In Harford county, March 93 was like 12” of snow with a solid 1-2” of sleet crust on top. Could almost walk on top of it without breaking through. I remember frigid cold and winds the second afternoon.

    My wag is that we want that northern low to be strong so it can drag in some cold air behind it and set the thermal boundary to our south. We probably also want some better spacing between the northern low and the southern low behind it.

    Very well could be. I think the -NAO/AO strength and position will be key for realizing higher potential. But even if those aren’t perfect, still should be chances for MECS type events.

    Although that statement doesn’t say it, I would expect the new “control” will be at the resolution of the current op? And maybe all ensemble members will be at higher resolution?

    The longwave pattern we’ve been waiting for is finally showing up on all 3 ensemble systems and temps are quickly cooling down at that point as well.
