Biggest flakes of the storm. Big fluffy flakes slowly falling.

Looks like Loudon-Fairfax-MoCo jackpot zone so far. Expect that will shift S and E with afternoon action.

To a point, the ULL approaching is what helps generate the coastal low, but also pulls some moisture back off the ocean.

12z 3k NAM agrees well with latest HRRRRR runs. Precip fills back in quickly in the next few hours, heaviest precipitation near sunset. Focus S and E of DC.

That would be impressive! Doubt we get there, but I think the 7-8" range is pretty likely.

Probably at least 0.5"/hour I'd guess with these rates and flake quality.

BWI had 1.8" on 0.13" of precipitation through midnight. Almost 14:1 ratios.

Haven't measured since 5am, but snowboard is covered again so I'm guessing I'm near 5" total. WSW verified! Should hit 6"...7-8" in reach?
