The Scandinavian-Greenland ridge pattern this fall and progged going forward is nice. Maybe we can hope for some occasional NAO help? If we can couple it with transient Pac ridging we could get some windows.

Yeah, GEFS surface temps are warm for December but the 500mb pattern looks halfway decent for most of it?

Usually they do down well, but the timing can be a bit variable and the QBO as a whole has been a little funky the last 4 years for whatever reason (climate or other).

A bit under 35 for a low, which might be coldest yet this fall. Pretty sad for mid November. First freeze should be tomorrow morning.

Lol, ggem still goes with upper 10s or low 20s Thursday morning. Gfs and euro are mostly upper 20s for the burbs and near freezing in the urban areas.

I'm leaving things messy this year. I'll mulch or rake the leaves on the grass, but I'm leaving the leaves in my mulch beds. Good habitat for overwintering insects. Hopefully will also save me a bunch of money on lawn bags.

That pattern in Jan-Mar would be pretty nice. Early December would be dicey for cold air, but possible.

IAD has, but not BWI. I think the eastern shore had a freeze warning, but I don’t think it verified.
