  1. 70/49. Closer to early October than early September weather.
  2. 12z 3k NAM gets temps into the upper 40s for NoVA and central/northern MD Wednesday morning!!
  3. Big Al has been scary at times, but hard to argue with the body of work this year. Easily most valuable oriole by dollar cost.
  4. WBAL showed video of Ellicott City last night. I believe they got a FFW yesterday with about 3” of rain plus whatever had fallen the day before. But it seemed the first steps of the new flood mitigation channels worked as designed.
  5. That’s identically what my neighbor’s PWS has, but it usually under catches during thunderstorms. 62 for a low this morning.
  6. Struggle of having expectations for a team.
  7. Raining a bit. Think we get a few rounds. We’ll see.
  8. Can hear thunder but storms passing me N and W so far
  9. I was on work travel to Flagstaff, AZ, this past week. Noticeable how much everything has greened up here. On a different note, I think Flagstaff has my ideal climate. Lots of snow and never really gets to 90.
  10. With the Niña looking fairly weak, that gives me more tempered optimism than I had a few months ago. PDO looks about as bad as can be though…I think we probably get a 1-2 week wintry period at some point. Hopefully we can maximize it.
  11. About 0.3” early this morning
  12. Gonna make that inevitable late August/early September heatwave even more frustrating, but a good sign that the seasons will be changing soon.
  13. But even their power numbers are down quite a bit from earlier this season. Far fewer homers since the break outside Santander and maybe Cowser.
  14. Missed impressive aurora last night. Photos from around the area posted on Twitter…
  15. Lawn people…to start recovering the lawn in the fall, should I focus on spot seeding? Or just do some general broadcast seeding?
  16. Had the windows open today for the first time in probably close to 2 months. Wish we could stay at this weather for August then start stepping down next month.
  17. F’ing Accuweather and shame on UMD.
  18. That firehose is going to miss me to the west
  19. CoCoRaHS has a huge range over HoCo last few days. One closest to me seems lower than I’d guess, but I think there are some very big gradients over short distances.
  20. Euro looked like it was about to do a Sandy left turn into New England at 240
  21. It’s a lot patchier east of DC certainly. I think areas north of I70 and west of I83 have done pretty well. The rest of us are more hit and miss. Think I’m in the 2-2.5” range since Wednesday.
