  1. Light flurries falling in Columbia.
  2. Friend of mine in...oh, let's say east-central Howard County, MD...wants to know when that 0.5" of snow the euro said was happening tonight is going to start. Any ideas what I should tell that friend?
  3. Yes, I looked very quick and was doing a double take. I guess they think areas to the north are either more sleet or just less precip in total?
  4. I think LWX just issued winter storm watches for Saturday for the areas S/E of I95?? @yoda?
  5. Euro definitely took another step toward a more coastal-dominant solution. OH Valley primary weaker and low on the coast takes over sooner. Just a bit too late for us this round verbatim. Another major ice storm.
  6. Obs and discussion thread for Saturday's sleet+freezing rain event. Maybe DCA's best chance at a sub-freezing high so far this winter.
  7. GGEM is mostly snow for Tuesday FWIW. Looks like the Icon.
  8. 3.8" final IMBY. Snow has basically stopped.
  9. 2 5" CoCoRaHS reports from Baltimore City on the LWX spotter report. The long nightmare is over!
  10. Mid-Atlantic Winter: Episode '21 Revenge of the NAM
  11. Another 0.2” in the last hour. Did a second snowboard wipe. 3.7” total. Hopefully the last bands can push me to 4”.
  12. Based on @leesburg 04, @heavy_wx, and you and me, it’s clear there was some mix with a gradient N-S across the county. Meso models yesterday showed that in the 8-9z time. I’m glad I slept through it. Maybe I can get to 4” with the final bands.
  13. Just saw a 5.8” spotter report from Sykesville and 4.5” in Elliott City. I think I probably mixed a bit and missed out on a couple hours of accumulation.
  14. Measured 2.8” at 2am and another 0.7” now for a 3.5” total. Kinda surprised I didn’t get more in the early morning given how radar looked. So maybe there was some mix? Very pretty out either way. 31F.
  15. Snowing well with big flakes again
  16. Speaking for central MD, sounding showed this first wave would have poorer snow crystal conditions and that should improve through the night.
  17. 0.3” so far with snow/graupel falling. Temp close to freezing.
  18. Solid dusting on the grass and snowing steadily. 33/28. Pretty close to surpassing Sunday’s debacle.
  19. 35/25 with beautiful doomed snowflakes falling in Columbia
  20. 38/25 in Columbia. Sun actually came out a bit.
  21. Got to smell the sleet to get the goods? We’ll see I guess. This is a winter where you kinda just want to give up on trying forecast amounts. 40/25
  22. Ok obs time. Locking this. Someone has 5 mins to make a thread or I will.
