  1. Moderate rain with the sun shining. Pretty disappointing given the radar depiction an hour ago, but I’ll take the rain and the 10F cooler temps.
  2. Yeah it’s having trouble crossing Rt29. Finally starting to in last couple radar frames. Thunder, lightning, and outflow here but no rain yet.
  3. Hearing some thunder but taking it’s sweet time to get here. Need it to cool things off. A refreshing 88F inside my house.
  4. Getting close but not here yet
  5. Let’s hope things keep popping
  6. Outflow dropping south is initiating new activity. Have to see how far it gets.
  7. But I guess good enough for a STW for north of DC.
  8. Just nothing happening in the metro corridor.
  9. Our location seems very much on the edge. Fingers crossed. GFS is pretty much dry through Friday before a wet weekend. eta…and the new SPC puts us on the southern edge of the Slight.
  10. Plant milkweed! They seem to like butterfly milkweed more than common milkweed when I look around the neighborhood, but YMMV. Common, swamp, and butterfly milkweeds are the best choices. There’s a certain critical mass of milkweed you need before the monarchs will lay eggs on them. Doesn’t have to be a huge amount, but one small plant won’t do it. Also have some other plants and things nearby where the chrysalis can hang. We’ve yet to find any chrysalis despite 20 some caterpillars last year.
  11. I’ve seen 2 monarch caterpillars on our butterfly weed so far. Hoping for many more.
  12. 2 extremely near misses today
  13. Up at Cunningham Falls State Park today and it’s just spectacular. Might need to move here until my AC is fixed or replaced.
  14. That storm is going to fall apart on my doorstep…
  15. Clearly you two are made for each other
  16. June temperatures were “much above average” for MD (ranking of 119 out of 127) and it didn’t even seem that hot. Frog in the stove pot, frog in the stove pot…
  17. Ended up with 0.2” storm total, split between a brief downpour yesterday afternoon and the evening rain band.
  18. Steady light rain. Almost a car topper.
  19. I’m no tropical expert, but don’t think NAM and HRRR are the go-to guidance of choice.
