  1. Entertaining GFS HH. I doubt this front will move through quick enough to get a snow this week, but I think we have plenty more time for winter fun.
  2. Low of 10.0. Coldest of the winter.
  3. Don’t forget your midnight high
  4. 1/28-29: 1.2" Season to date: 14.8" I've exceeded all the winter-total snowfall numbers from what I consider the "bad" or "disappointing" years. So that's nice. 2.3" to go to beat last winter. Feeling good about that.
  5. https://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=NWS&product=PNS&issuedby=LWX 1.5” BWI 1.0” IAD 0.2” DCA Some nice totals from southern PG, AA, Charles, Calvert, and St Mary’s counties. General 3-6”.
  6. Enjoy! It was scenic yesterday but you didn’t miss much.
  7. Yup, it was the lack of precip that hurt us. Even with the crappy snow crystal growth and marginal temps in the afternoon and evening. We all knew there could be banding yesterday evening but we often forget that areas outside the band can suffer significantly. Some 4-6” reports from southern MD west of the Bay, so that band did crank.
  8. Well I did catch a few bands of light snow overnight. Added 0.4” so 1.2” total. Wind picking up and temp down to 19.8 now.
  9. 0.8”. Added 0.1” during my Jebwalk but it’s lightened up again. Probably need 2 more hours of this to get to 1”. Going to be close. I’m going to bed and dreaming that I get clipped by a rogue outer band from the coastal.
  10. 0.7”. Wiped the snowboard. Time for a Jebwalk.
  11. Getting a decent band now and flakes are non microscopic. How long can it last? Measured 0.6” at 9pm.
  12. Yup. Subsidence on the outside of that band. Need upward motion for good dendrite formation.
  13. I’m up to 0.3” now…1” looks tough as is. Pixie dust flakes are killing us because they have sub 10:1 ratios while we’re also just getting less precip. At least this snow will stick around for a couple days!
  14. That band is acting like a wall for the moisture and also giving us subsidence. So it goes. Still a scenic happy hour as I crack my second beer!
  15. Yeah, not much yet. I’ll give it another 1-2 hours and hopefully we see something. That band to our south is just sucking it all up (to their benefit).
  16. Still mostly pixie dust but things are whitening up. Can see heavier echoes on radar slowly but steadily expanding.
  17. Cool. I will say, many of the progs today showed banding (with more like 2-4") along a CHO-DC-Annapolis line. And look where it's showing up now... Still hoping for 2" IMBY...
