    Euro rain forecast for next week got me all tingly inside

    That BWI repaving a few years ago definitely adds 1-3F on days like this. But it was hot regardless.

    97F at BWI and 95F on DCA as highs based on the hourly obs. Have to see the interhours to see if they got higher.

    Today might be the last best chance for DCA and BWI to make a run at 100F. Looks seasonable to slightly below normal (gasp) for the next 7+ days after today. That sort of extreme heat is not impossible after August 10 certainly, but becomes increasingly anomalous.

    Going to OCMD Wednesday night through the weekend and weather looks fantastic right now.

    EPS d10-15 pattern is one we’d love for winter. Mt Holly’s point about possible long track MCS events is well taken with that look. Probably some hot days, but could also be some brief fall preview type days after cold fronts.

    Huge ecosystem damage, but at least we’ll only be 1-2F above normal!

    61F for the low. Don’t get to many like this anymore in late July.

    Bonus rain! This second storm might be better than the first. No thunder in either, but a few good wind gusts now and heavier rain than I had a few hours ago.

    We haven’t had much for extreme heat on a given day, but we are (of course) above normal temps this summer and above normal 90F days.
