  1. Yeah, hopefully that one slightly below freezing morning low will knock them back.
  2. Spring predictability barrier, etc, but the latest enso plumes are
  3. I highly recommend the Seek app by iNaturalist. Free and quite accurate.
  4. In Harford county having crabs with family and I saw a mosquito, I shit you not.
  5. Oh yeah. Daytime, rate-dependent, March snowfall with temps 34-36. Lock that up!
  6. Was far better then the last 2 winters though when we couldn’t even get into the 10s. But still nothing really remarkable.
  7. The warm and sunny side of my house. The daffodils on the west side of my house are only 1-2” high.
  8. Low of 22. Hopefully helps keep all the flowers and tree buds at bay.
  9. We’ve been in this house for 6.5 years now so my experience only runs that far with them. But they do seem inclined to bloom early. I think in those 6 springs, we’ve had 2 good blooms, 2 sort of intermediate that got some frost nip, and 2 early that got nuked by March cold. So far the buds on mine don’t seem far along so I’m cautiously optimistic.
  10. Yeah. South facing daffodils likely to pop. Ones in shady spaces are still a long way off. Thankfully my magnolia seems to be a couple weeks off still. I’ve had it bloom in February before and then get obliterated in March.
  11. It seems like the cold air might be fairly transient, even if briefly intense. Probably need a wave within 48-72 hours after the big FROPA to have a good airmass in place. Long way out still. I’m mostly hoping my magnolia and daffodils don’t get ambitious in the next 4 days so they don’t get nuked next weekend.
  12. Don’t know about snow yet, but does seem like a solid cold shot is on the table with lows in the 10s for many by mid-late next week.
  13. Yeah, April can have those crappy days for sure. But usually the bright sunny days are comfortable. These March bright sunny days are usually deceptively chilly or windy or both.
  14. August is a solid #2 and is there ready for the crown in case March surprises with a cutoff paste bomb or some such fun.
  15. Happy worst weather month of the year!
  16. But it’s almost gusty shower season!!
  17. Any posts discussing politics will be removed.
  18. Seems like today is slated to be a warm bust. For example, yesterdays 18z euro and even 0z last night had lows this morning in the mid-upper 20s. BWI low was 38. Already approaching the forecast high temp as well of low-mid 40s. Wouldn’t be surprised if we sneak up to 50-52 under full sun.
  19. Kind of a nice day today once the sun came out. Air was crisp, felt like late October or early November.
