Congrats! Went a couple years ago during their winter. Really amazing place. I would recommend Mt. Cook National Park, Doubtful Sound cruise and Kayak, and a nice strenuous hike up Roys Peak!

I actually thought the whole write-up was pretty damn good, going in depth and explaining why one shouldn't get their hopes up to snow over their boots. Kinda like constantly posting Kuchera maps and then being consistently disappointed. Just saying...

You know it's slow around here when we're discussing spellings of streets in Redfield.....

Went on a ski trip in N. Vermont. There and the ADKs is about the only place feeling wintery at times. These were taken south of Plattsuburg off the northway.

Actually the Skaneateles Conservation Area. It's down off Gully road....great place to hike and snowshoe!

As an avid photographer, I have basically weekly images from the past 15 years...so it's a visual and digital journal. It's nice to go back and see how the years tend to compare. While some of us are complaining on the board, I've found we've had a pretty decent early winter pattern...especially compared to some years I have documented where the entire area literally had close to no snow leading right up to Christmas. Just a few samplings of this years snowy beauty...I think it's important for winter lovers to sometimes get away from the models and out in the stuff we love. Merry Christmas!
