  1. It’s crazy how ISP hasn’t hit 90 yet, maybe tomorrow they will. Today was my 7th 90.
  2. Yeah I left that part out lol, I’m so accustomed to both gunshots and fireworks that I can tell which one is which. Subtle differences, but after a while you can hear it. Way less gunshots here in LI than in Queens though.
  3. Am I the only one that finds it soothing? I’m from Jamaica, Queens, anything too quiet feels suspicious lol. The humming of Air conditioners, Cicadas, fireworks and ice cream trucks = sounds of summer.
  4. Same. DP spiked into the mid 70’s and the temp dropped into the 80’s. 84/74 here currently, high was 91.
  5. Thanks and good riddance. I had no idea the radar was was that close to the obstruction, literally walking distance.
  6. Eastern Suffolk always seems to do better than Western Suffolk, I don’t get it. Quick shower here but it amounted to nothing.
  7. That obstruction near the OKX radar gets on my nerves.
  8. 77/72 here, the temp plummeted during a quick shower but the sun is back out now.
  9. Same. Looks like a race between the sea breeze and the BDCF, I wonder which one will be first.
  10. Pretty much socked with clouds here since just after sunrise. 83/72 (HI 88).
  11. 75/68 here, low was 74, warmest of the year so far.
  12. 1.70” event total, haven’t seen rain like that in ages.
  13. Have we ever seen a major hurricane stay in one spot for as long as this one has? This is basically Dorian right now:
  14. My only ice storm memory is of the Jan 1999 ice storm in the DC area, it was serious, the landscape looked very alien, all trees and power lines sagged in ways I’d never seen (and still haven't seen again), I recall one power line encased in thick ice dangling right in front of the window just a few feet away. This event was also my earliest weather memory.
  15. I hit 105 in Queens, highest temperature I’ve ever experienced. Newark (and maybe LGA) is definitely going to hit 110 one of these days. Old Bridge, NJ hit 110 back in 1936.
  16. I felt it, I thought I was off balance initially but I noticed clothes hangers swaying back and forth. Swaying not nearly as noticeable as the 2011 quake, that was enough to wake me up out of my sleep.
  17. The sheer amount of green leaves left is astonishing. The landscape is still 50%+ green in many spots and we’re in the second half of November.
  18. I super-hate early sunsets, we’re too far east in this time zone. It’d be nice if we could keep Eastern Daylight Time year round, but the U.S. government doesn’t allow year round DST, only opting out of DST. Making the switch to Atlantic Standard Time year round would solve that problem, multiple New England states have recently proposed switching.
  19. It feels like I haven’t looked at a radar since Maria made landfall in PR. I couldn’t even remember where the RadarScope app was located on my phone’s home screen.
  20. I’m legitimately cold. It’d be nice if the sun came out.
