0.66”. 71 here. DP peaked at 68 yesterday and overnight. Soil temp is currently 65, it’s been in the 60’s since September 26th, with an average of 63.5 since then. Should fall off a cliff by the end of next week.

I rode out the storm near Bald Hill, one of LI’s highest points, and the winds there were violent. Gusts had to have been clearing 100mph, and on a hill with virtually no obstructions the floor was vibrating (concrete foundation).

Sandy stripping the leaves from the trees, which were still mostly green, is something I can’t forget. The landscape literally went from vibrant to fully barren and salty.

I recall feeling a 2.-something earthquake located off the Jersey Shore back in 2016. I noticed the clothes hangers swaying back and forth for about 40 seconds. Nothing else moved. Then I saw a tweet from the USGS shortly afterwards.

I have all three (and more) in pots. I had two Sabal minors planted at a relative’s house, one unfortunately succumbed to the drought this summer, the other looked awful but recovered once the rains returned. Manhattan windmill palms (2019), as you can see the one on the right is deceased:

I’m praying for any pattern that results in the CONUS being flooded with mild pacific air for all 90 days of winter.
