  1. Out 522N. Just NW of Lake Holiday. Hopefully I did not buy property in another precip shadow desert. At least I got an extra 260' elevation. Unbelievably, we got beat- out on a 2000' property in Linden. We got a lot more land with this place though and being NW offers some advantages too at times. The prospect of returning home was appealing to me, but the real disappointment is losing out on that elevation. Summer days are 6 -7 degrees cooler up there and snow hangs on for far longer.
  2. I am moving (bye bye Stephens City) on March 3 and 4. If there is any chance of a winter storm this year, then it is likely to happen then. Of course, it's far more likely that we just continue to add to our 35F rain totals during those 2 days. Hoping for sunny and 50F.
  3. March 2013 kicked off the best 2 year stretch of weather mby has ever seen. And by a country mile.
  4. Had .5" snow before brief flip to sleet before ending. Prob all fell in 45 minutes between 4 and 5 am. Now seeing some rain start to fall.
  5. Beautiful fat fluffy dendrites. Gorgeous watching it come down. Wish this would last longer.
  6. Snowing moderately. Close to heavy now. Ground is white. But the band of precip is narrow on radar. 28F.
  7. Let it be warm. Selling my house and preparing to move. Warm and dry would be preferred for the next month or two.
  8. Sky here is breaking. 4" on the nose on elevated surfaces. Trees caked in heavy snow. Beeuuutiful!
  9. Certainly 2"+ here. Roads covered. Beautiful winters scene. I can no longer figure out imgur to post pics here so.....
  10. Solid half inch on the cars and grass. Starting to accumulate on edges of the streets and driveways and sidewalks.
  11. Pretty heavy snow on traffic cams as far north as staunton.
  12. On my doorstep according to radar. Clouds quickly thickening.
  13. This is yet another punt-the-winter-until-Valentines.
  14. Dude. Really?? You're using the classic El Nino winter with massive early season blocking analogy? By mid jan. 2010 most of this sub forum had at least 2' of snow. Really?
  15. Last day of the Garrett era! Let's go, redskins!
