If those were actual precip totals posted above, and not anomalies, then I'd beleive those maps.

There will be rain next week. In the usual areas. But not for the rest of us. And I already see forecast highs in the mid 90s by midweek, which will verify closer to 100F for us in the desert wasteland.

The death of the gulf lows ended our chances for rain here and cemented our fate as the world's only humid desert climate.

Oh look, another day and another batch of rain to our east.

.08" for this week. Barely 1/2" for the entire month of july and still less than 2" since memorial day. That looks like a wrap for this month. Everything is dead; haven't mowed my grass in at least 6 weeks. This area is done for. Last year I received 4.32" for the entire MET summer. And that's more than twice what I've got 2/3 through this one.

Seeing the same thing as yesterday. Rain approaching from the SW and the northern part of it evaporates as it gets close.

A meaningless .08" yesterday evening. The usual losers lose again.

Storm vaporized just to my south and moved east hammering Strasburg. 1 million dollars the north side of it blows up again as soon as it crosses 81. I've gotten 15 minutes of drizzle and the only wet ground is at the gutter downspouts.

Comical watching this line of storms just to my SW literally getting vaporized by the rain shield. Hitting an absolute brick wall.

It looked liked November here by mid-August last year. Will be even sooner this year.

I'm sure the people who've gotten rain will get more and those who haven't, won't.
