  1. I'm with you for 10 months of the year. Summer here, spectacular. Fall is beautiful, doubt it could be better anywhere else. Winter, I love the snow and snow sports. But April and May, when everyone else is having spring and we're in cold mud season, sucks. There's no way to put lipstick on pig of a day like yesterday.
  2. Yeah flurrying here, but no accumulation yet. F this.
  3. No fun! No hoorah! I love snow as much as anyone. But there's so much spring yardwork to do, I can't watch a whole weekend go down the tubes. Either give me enough snow to get my skis out of the basement, or give me sunny and 65F!
  4. Please let’s keep that minimum over Otsego County. We are already waterlogged, with the lakes full, and flooding just sucks.
  5. Nice hailer! Two lines went through. The first had some small scattered hail. The second was more impressive:
  6. We missed you at Plattekill today. In the woods: Bluebird can't get any more bluebird than this:
  7. I measured 12 to 13 inches at various points on our property. Backcountry skiing off the charts good today:
  8. Delta I hope you end up having a great time. We are shoveling out today, skiing Sunday and Monday. Here's some fun "spring" shots from our place.
  9. You should have hung a right in Albany. I’m eyeballing about a foot on my deck right now. Plattekill reported a foot as of 1900 last night and I believe it . I bet they ended up around 18 inches.
  10. Just down the road from me. We are up over 1600 feet and when I left for work before 0700 it was 32 F with about 4 inches already accumulated. Down in Cooperstown, 1250 feet it was 33F on the car thermometer, also pouring snow and about 2-3 inches accumulated.
  11. I like the way this looks in the Catskills right now too. Could be a great Platty day on Sunday!
  12. I'm still hedging. I want to get in at least one more good ski day. Wondering if Sunday might actually be the better day this weekend. Could be a gem of a spring day on fresh snow.
  13. We love skiing Platty for St. Patrick's Day because they have fun activities for the kids, plus good corned beef and cabbage. But I'm passing this year. I think what's left of the snow is going to freeze to a brick overnight tonight. At best a few snow showers could make it dust on crust.
  14. Snowgeek that looks great and all, but you're missing out on watching 33 degree drizzle and fog roll over our frozen glacier surface here. Are you sure it's worth it?
  15. Next year can you post your schedule ahead of time? We're headed to Stowe and I'm bumming big time.
  16. Outstanding day at Plattekill yesterday. Perfect conditions. As crowded as I have ever seen it, which meant waiting up to 5 minutes for the lift. Truly an under appreciated gem.
  17. This had me thinking last night. The Stowe gondola goes over some really treacherous terrain. How would you get people off that thing if it was stuck? We're visiting in 2 weeks, I'm not really sure I want to know but asking anyway......
  18. Snow Ridge looks like money in the bank this weekend. if you can even get there.
  19. I think Sunday would be the day to be there. Storm should be dumping Saturday night. Stay overnight!
  20. When there is good natural snow Plattekill rules. Absolutely our favorite local mountain but only if it has been snowing.
  21. Great info. Never been there but sounds like we should give it a try.
  22. Stowe seems crazy expensive for that kind of experience. I don't know the areas out toward Boston. In upstate NY we have Royal Mountain and other local places that offer great beginner lessons and packages at very reasonable prices.
