  1. Wow does that suck. I mean you look up the word "sucks" in the winter weather dictionary, you get that image.
  2. If the 330 hour GFS says it, it must be true. Lock it in!
  3. Thanks for bringing back fond memories of my teenage years!
  4. Did you just criticize Matt 30 minutes ago for his negativity? Pot....meet kettle.
  5. I think those rat bastads from Rochester and Buffalo are stealing our snow again, that's what I think!
  6. Whats the next panel look like? I could see cyclogenesis taking place off the NJ coast given that set up.
  7. The beginner slope was open, plus most of the main side. They had the easiest trail off the main lift closed.....not sure why as there was plenty of snow. Maybe that's where they held the snowmobile races I saw advertised for Saturday night. I could see lots of snowmobile tracks as I looked down. Windham annoyed me going with their new ski pass system a couple of years back. I don't need more annoying cards to keep track of. I'll still go but Plattekill is the same distance for us and if there's good natural snow we will take Platty every time.
  8. Looking good. We went to Royal, which is where we usually start our season each year. Bountiful natural snow, some of it still ungroomed powder. A great start to the season.
  9. Deep winter vibe here today. 23F with mostly cloudy skies, breaks of sun, and flakes always in the air. The snow is deep and the XC skiing was fantastic. Closing the blinds Monday morning.
  10. We are winding down to light snow here. Currently 27F. I went and took measurements at 3 pm. Multiple spots in our yard between 9.5 and 10 inches. Bottom 1-2 inches very compact, dense and scratchy on our metal measuring stick.
  11. Loving the dump we’re getting on easterly flow; brings a tear to my eye seeing it pass over right over eastern Connecticut with barely a flake then explode as it hits eastern NY.
  12. Hartwick is in the center of Otsego County. Almost dead center of NY state.
  13. I'm sitting underneath it and I can tell you it's a beautiful thing. It's so energizing watching the radar blossom to our east and then rotate over us. Snowing moderately outside and making up for a lackluster overnight.
  14. Central Otsego County here. We've stayed all snow so far. Currently moderate snow, eyeballing about 1.5 inches on the deck.
  15. I'd love to see some lake effect action going on in O Park when the Ravens and Lamar Jackson come to town next weekend.
  16. When I first looked at the GEM map I was sure that you drew a smiley face in the center of the low.
  17. Well the radar sure exploded right after I posted this brilliant comment. Cooperstown crusher! Anywhere from 2 inches on the wet spots in the yard, to 6 inches on the garbage pails.
  18. NWS very bullish on a paste job here, forecasting 4-6 inches. With just an inch so far color me very skeptical. I think it whiffs to our east.
  19. I've lived in Amherst, and i have lived in Albany. Where are you getting that 5 degree figure from? They seemed pretty similar to me. Where I live now, at 1650 feet in Otsego County is definitely colder than both those places.
  20. That's exactly how I feel. Two days ago there was a huge snowfall gradient on the maps within 30 miles of my house. Now it's hours away to the northwest......definitely doesn't hurt like it did before.
  21. I'm toast here in Otsego County. You western NY peeps are stealing our snow!
  22. I'm not feeling this one yet. That track looks like trouble for those of us to the east.
  23. It's an interesting pattern we've had over a few years. When I think of deer hunting season I think of being out in winter conditions.....we always seem to have some snow and at least a period of bitter cold where we struggle to get up to freezing for a high. Then I think of Christmas week, a month later.....and it tends toward the balmy side, often with no snow around.
