Only down to 47 here. Need that cold and snow to hurry up and get here before the next hurricane. -

Max gust at KTNB was 35mph. Grandfather Station hit 66. Mt Mitchell only hit 35 weirdly enough. -

Been completely calm here outside Boone for the last couple hours. Over 4" of rain though and still raining. -

Getting a little gusty here outside Boone. My parents just had a 60mph gust in NE GA. Worst wind seems to be behind the precip. -

Lightning flashes tonight. Quite surprising, not used to that in October. -

Super breezy here today. I'm a little surprised how slow the color change has been IMBY this year. Still 80-85% green despite several frosts. Even Grandfather is creeping along slower than I had expected. Originally thought it might peak this weekend (highest slopes will) but looks like next week sometime along the Parkway. Good news for any damage that could be done by Delta, though. Hopefully taking a day trip up to West Virginia this Friday. Never been up there during the fall. -

Beautiful shots. Really hoping Delta doesn't do too much damage right at peak color next weekend. -

35 with a heavy frost in Foscoe. Had to crank the defrost up to melt the ice on the car at 430 this morning. Lovin it. -

Yeah. Still quite a bit of green but almost everything has that yellow tint to it today. I was up on the Parkway the other day and the Stack Rock to Viaduct area was coming along nice. Boone Fork area usually changes fairly early too. -

Well that's the solution. It is 2020 after all. The year of the rain. -

Another low of 36 with more frost than the other morning. Also quite a bit of fog down along 105 to go along with the frost which was kinda weird. -

Done been there ha. Interested to see how low we can get tonight. Was surprised that we didn't get into the 30s last night. Down to 54 already right now. -

Only managed 41 this morning oddly enough. Seen more monarchs headed south today than I've seen all year. Telltale sign of the end of summer. -

36 with patchy frost at the house this morning. Felt nice. Bring on the leaf season. -

I prefer the scout side access myself. If you go make sure to take the Nuwati to Cragway up to the DBS. And swing by Storyteller Rock if you have time. I love that view in the fall. -
A friend of mine is finishing up her capstone and could use some replies on this survey. If you or someone you know is afraid of severe weather feel free to fill out this questionnaire. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdY4nTH8acbokjwXN-4xdaSHL8A0bWOUONOVCx_IHZxGUzLIQ/viewform

I'd go with spruce pine. Better infrastructure to power back or get out. There ain't nothing out around Sparta lol. -

Looks like 4-6+ on the TT maps for the FV3, but that would almost definitely be underdone in the SE facing escarpment areas. Strong, moist SE flow is the last thing you want to see and I wouldn't be surprised for some areas to see a foot or more. Only good news is that it's actually moving by then instead of just crawling.

FWIW They were fairly accurate for NE GA during Irma but that's the only time I've used them much. Probably a touch overdone but no surprise there.
