Was hoping for a little more snow/ice up on Grandfather but it's pretty regardless. Had a dusting of snow along the Parkway from Beacon Heights to 181 and back towards Banner Elk. 29 on the Parkway was the lowest the car thermometer got on my trip.
Good luck guys. I'll be hanging around grandfather since I gotta be at work by noon. Maybe head down to little lost Cove cliffs real early and try to get some shots of grandfather covered in snow above the new leaves and blooming azaleas.
12km NAM looks good for Friday night. If it's gotta be cold in MAY might as well get our 25th dusting of the season out of it. I won't be missing this winter at all, ever.
Maybe some sprites if you can keep a view above the clouds. Satellite not looking particularly optimistic though with the overcast expanding rapidly east.
Wind is rocking here in foscoe. We're well protected from the northwest flow wind most of the time but the angle of this valley funnels in the south/west stuff.
NAM is really intent on that (deform-ish?) band this evening laying down snow at elevation. Tries to work it down into Boone too around 0z. Where was this when it was cold?
Imma be honest Im subscribed to this thread in Tapatalk and forgot about the other one. I'm good with shutting this one down so we can all forget this winter.

With the way radar looks this could easily give us our biggest snow of the season if we don't lose too much to melting. GSP has 5" falling in Newland on their maps.
