    Weird weather day. Bottomed out at 31.5 with a brief bout of freezing rain and topped out at 62 and sunny.

    Gfs has been dead set on another ice threat for the escarpment next Monday for a couple days. 12z also has a lovely fantasy storm.

    Well looks like that lee trough is working out. Snow around Dawsonville and Gainesville, GA. Crazy setup.

    I've seen it a few times growing up down there. I can remember a couple that produced decent totals. Always a last minute surprise though.

    Sitting on an island above the wedge here in Foscoe. 63 at the house, upper-30s/low-40s just a few miles away.

    Warm front broke through about 730 this morning. Temp has skyrocketed almost 30 degrees already. Currently 61.

    GFS and Euro both hinting at something next Friday/Saturday. GFS at least has had a pretty solid storm on several runs now.

    31.8 and heavy ZR. Roughly 1/4" on everything outside. Gravel is so slick it's hard to walk on.

    Hearing a bit more of a breeze here now. Up to 30.2/21.9 which gives me a wetbulb of 27.5. Gonna be a long night/morning.

    Temp has stalled at 29.3 here. DP still creeping down at 21.3 now. Dead calm too.

    36/24 at the house. Made it briefly to 38 but headed back down now. The early morning clouds really slowed things down. Car says 33 sitting in full sun in Newland. Looks like we're gonna have clear skies for a bit after sunset. Will give some good radiational cooling time before the clouds roll in.

    How much ice fell in Boone back in 2009? Can't seem to find amounts just articles talking about the damage. I believe that was the last major ice storm around here.

    I wonder if those Pivitol maps are adding sleet into the ZR totals. Cause it looks like a decent amount of snow/sleet at onset to me.

    I've never seen the HRRR spit out numbers like that. The 3k NAM does it a lot but the HRRR doing it is what concerns me.

    Seeing some nice flurry/light snow action this morning. Nice to see something besides rain.

    We're back down to 39.2. It was the weirdest thing. Got a little more breezy but no notable wind direction change. Went from 36 to 45 back down to 39 in the past hour. Not sure how to zoom this in and keep the units on the side. Edit: down to 37.2 4 minutes later. Feels/sounds eerie outside. Edit: 36.0 now (11 minutes since 37.2, freefall slowing down) Another edit to add the pressure data. Saw a small pressure spike at the same time as well as very heavy rainfall. I gotta say I love having this station.

    WAA at the house big time last hour. Up from 38 to 44 and breezy.

    Thick glaze on everything in the parking lot here in Boone. Little over 1/10 I would guess. Car says 28 with occasional light rain/drizzle/fog
