  1. I think everyone here works take a long duration ice storm . Similar to 98 in Montreal.
  2. If they start as snow I don’t see how we don’t
  3. 495. Thermal profiles/soundings indicate that temps should be cold enough in this region for mainly snow or rain quickly changing to snow. Given marginal boundary layer temps...greater impacts/snow accumulations will be in the higher terrain. Strong low level southwest flow will also result in some mesoscale enhancement along the western side of the Berks, Worcester Hills and northeast CT Hills. This can be seen in a lot of the high resolution model guidance QPF fields. So while the snow amounts should be elevation dependent to some degree...expect to see the higher snow accumulations on the western/upslope side vs the eastern side at the same elevations. We continued the Winter Weather Advisory for western and central MA and also include Tolland county to account for their higher elevation. We generally expect 2-6" of snow to fall within the Winter Weather Advisory with the greater of those amounts in the high terrain...particularly on the western upslope side.
  4. So were today’s trends colder / snowier for next week, or is it rain and 50’s? It is absolutely impossible to tell by reading the posts this afternoon

  6. Those won’t be paste though. That’ll be wind blown fluff
  7. It ain’t the NW hills , but it’s the 2nd best spot in the state for snow.
  8. I think we”ll need over 4” for any real damage. 6” seems to be the magic number. And i won’t see that much .
  9. Assuming tonight actually happens.. this may be the biggest event of the season.
