  1. That is exactly what happened. As soon as I got inside .. a strike knocked out power for several minutes.. both teenage daughters were up which is unheard of at 5:30 AM and within 5 minutes it was gone . It literally ginned up for my run. Almost like someone up above had something to do with it
  2. Those look like old cuts that the tree guys just left there when you had them taken down last year
  3. I think I recall you mentioning that on here . It’s certainly a scary feeling . Just waiting for that next strike .
  4. Looks like a stormy next 4-5 days north and west of I-95 other than Thursday. That may be the only day of no rain
  5. I certainly didn’t do that purposely. I always look at radar before I leave. It was a downpour that just blossomed into a huge lightning producer in minutes as it moved in. The sky was orange , there was a bit of fog.. CG flashing all around. I honestly wondered to myself if this was it . Probably the fastest last mile home I’ve ever run
  6. Every storm this summer has blown up as it moves in. It’s strange. Looks like another solid line moves thru state late day or evening
  7. As much as I love severe weather and everything that comes with it, it really is a helpless feeling when there’s so much lightning and you’ve got nowhere to hide
  8. When I left at 4:50 I looked one last time and it was a small downpour over Farmington. As I got about a mile into the run lightning started increasing and within minutes was constant. I really wasn’t sure what to do. There were no houses where I was on route 74
  9. Do not ever get caught 2 miles from home in a sudden thunderstorm . That was absolutely terrifying running under trees . So many close lightning strikes. Power is out . That was crazy . Still shaking. It was flash, instant sizzle
  10. Can you please post pics in the daylight tomorrow of the 15 downed trees? I’d just like to evaluate the scene .. to see how to attack it.
  11. So what exactly did you chainsaw? You’ve posted that you’ve had your Oaks taken down. So were you chainsawing your downed gutters or abandoned cars ?
  12. Yes. The only folks that don’t think it’s humid are non exercise folks. And that’s not a knock on them not exercising. But the definition of humid is 60 or above. Anyone posting about grabbing jeans and sweatshirts when it’s 67/66 because they feel cold is drinking very heavily . You grab those types of things when it’s 61/40
  13. With dews in the mid and upper 60’s? That’s insane . Is she wasted ? Damp and humid. You don’t gown up with winter clothes in humid weather lol
  14. My tomato and various pepper plants are thriving . I planted 6 tomato plants of various species and 6 pepper plants and all of them are loaded with fruit . It’s been great not having to water them since the dry early - mid May period . Lawns that have been properly fertilized look absolutely amazing . Embrace things that you enjoy and make you happy . The complaining posters should look for positives
  15. When dewpoints remain 65 or higher for weeks? I mean .. unless your’re drunk or high .. you notice the second you walk outside.. or your AC breaks and you have to call 911 to be driven by ambulance to the ER for emergency sheet removal surgery . Just because it’s not 90, doesn’t mean it’s humid and sticky
  16. It’s been humid since middle of last week.
  17. Last Wed and Thursday were scorchers
  18. Only another 8.8” to 20” Let’s do this
