  1. Thanks for the detailed analysis and post John . As you well know living in a hilltown and especially on a hilltop , many times is not the same as 75% of the rest of the town . Last Feb’s extremely local icestorm was probably the biggest example in my area. Your area higher and in NW CT certainly is favored. 6-9” there seems fairly likely . This area is prone to mid level issues which is why I am erring 3-6” , but admittedly it’s a razor sharp line . The hope is these cold trends continue one more model cycle and we get our valley and S CT folks some good snows.
  2. Poor TFlizz. When TAN is not in the mix he tries so hard SHORT TERM /TONIGHT THROUGH MONDAY/... This will be a period of active weather. Unfortunately, the critical details still remain uncertain, and the margin for error is very small. Will be monitoring these details overnight into Sunday, and likely making further changes to the forecast as new information arrives.
  3. Ray has Precip starting as rain tomorrow and continues . Hi res and GFS/ Euro has thump snow . Maybe they meet in the middle
  4. Bald hill . I took Ray, Will , and Scooter thru there years ago when we went to NBC studio to see Ryan Hammertime . It’s about 1100’ at the tower .. maybe a bit lower . There are houses there. It’s the next ridge top over from to the ENE . Two minute drive . It was in December and we had 3” OTG. Got to Weha and there was nothing except a trade in the mulch
  5. Lol .. I don’t recall ripping your maps . You guys do a great job . If anything I may just recommend an adjustment in a very friendly manner
  6. The town ranges from like 200’ on the Willington line by the river there to 400’ on 195 as you head towards Uconn to 650’ thru center of town and then you’ve got 700-1100 in areas NE and especially north and NW side . I can see there being 3-4 inch discrepancies across the town . It’s an impossible forecast . Over the years I’ve found that generally 700 feet you notice a difference and at 800 feet is when it really starts to kick in . The icestorm was a great example of that last February
