I remember them flat out saying "there is no question, this is going to happen" a week out. None of this scenario low track stuff you get nowadays. I have live here my entire life and that is the only time I came close to getting stranded out on the road. Had a meeting the morning it started, in Breezewood, and tried to get it done and over early, and get home. I tried to tell my father we shouldn't try it. Mistake. It snowed so hard the couple hours we were in the meeting that we had to shovel the car out to try to get out of the parking lot. Then barely got home and had to run the car in the snow piled up along side of the road and let it set. The memorable part for me was the wind Saturday night. Hurricane force winds and pounding snow. House made noises never heard before, or since. Storms like that and 1996 ruined us old guys lol. People are like "Oh big storms a comin! " We are like, yea, I guess if you say so.

Cold temps hanging on here. 30 degrees and light freezing rain. Looks like about a half inch of sleet last night then freezing rain on top of it. Looks to be around a 1/16" inch of ice or so. If we hit a high of 49 today like they are forecasting it's going to be melt city.
-
Yep, guess we better get the generators gassed up.
-
Hey hey we have a January thunderstorm going on here right now with snow on the ground. Wow, big time Thunder and lighting! Interesting.

Wish I had a supply of wood but I don't. I used to burn wood and till I bought it, cut a split it, and used as much as I did it wasnt worth it. But hard coal was 100 a ton back then. Its 300 a ton now. 29 Degrees here now and I feel like spring has arrived lol.
-
Yep that will do it. Not a cloud in the sky here. I heat my garage with coal and can tell how cold it was overnight by how many shovels of coal it takes lol. Generally its 1 shovel full in the am. The other night I had to throw 3 in it. Last night it pretty much completely burnt up and I am having to almost start from scratch. It was pretty dang cold last night going by that.

I think it got as cold here last night as it did the night before. NWS shows -9 right now, AW shows -6, and overnight low for Bedford CO airport Airport was -14 again.
-
Wow that is crazy. At 8:30AM I had -9 on my digital temp gun so I guess that must have been accurate.
-
Wow 9 years for CPA......I know its been pretty disappointing for a long time IMBY. Nuisance 4-6 inch snows. I seem to be in one of the worst spots for big snowstorms nowadays. I consider big storms over a foot. This 10 inch storm we just got is the best in several years. Big storms go to the North, South, East, and West of me mostly.
-
Temp gun showed -9 earlier but could be off a couple degrees. When it gets that cold a few degrees doesn't matter. Its freaking cold.

Picked up another 1.5" last night. Been snowing off and on here all morning.

Yep calorie burn felt good enough for me to slam down about a dozen wings after I was done. My body was like wow, we might be net negative calories for the day! Nope! Here comes the wings!
-
I do, but many times I set around half of the next day waiting on someone to get around to it. I have a business that uses the driveway. Most of the time I just suck it up and do it myself. Like now. It's done.

I am 56 and I am about to the point I can't do it anymore. Well, I can do it, it just kills me for 3 or 4 days afterwards. All busted up tonight. I have a 28 inch Cub cadet 3X and my driveway and lot is huge. Takes 2-3 hrs.

I think we ended up somewhere around 8.5-9 here when it was all said and done. That was enough for me to break 2 shear pins on the snow blower. My storms are ranked by shear pin breakage. 8-10 inches is a 2 pinner....
