  4. Texas shits baseball size hair when a bee farts Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  5. Texas is nuts. This all formed from outflow boundary and went tornadic in 15 minutes Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  6. I think the very high lows at both airport are a result of river and wet lands. They almost always have a higher humidity than surrounding stations. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  7. Congrats Minnesota Twins Maybe one day my pirates can win A single post season series Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  8. Looks like last days KMDT 82, 83 KCXY 86, 84 The only real difference in days is the wind today had an east component thus off the river for KCXY today and yesterday had more a west component, thus off the water for KCXY. I swear a city these days needs like 5 measurements. One at airport, one by body of water, one in the middle of asphalt central, one in suburbs, one in closest farmland. Take average of all 5 of those for reading Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  9. I do have a love of cold, wind driven rainy days in fall and spring, a long with June east wind drizzle and highs in the 60's. Sucks that Juneau Alaska is so damn expensive to live. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  10. I can't wait for dreary low 50s where I can do yard work and not really sweat Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  11. Where's my zombies I was promised a good time Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  12. Haha, I feel like old man. Just finished digging up a rose bush. Took a cold shower and now laying down with multiple fans so I can regain enough to take her bike riding when she gets home in an hour. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  13. Had off today and did some mulching. Can definitely tell I'm still not well. 30 minutes of mulching made me feel like a train hit me. Maybe its compounded due to sun and heat not being good to mix with steroids, but it shocked me. Anyways, Sunday looks like a wonderful day. Taking my daughter with my brother, his wife, and my parents to the Renaissance Fair. It's been about 15 years since I went. Anyone here have any suggestions for what to see, eat, drink while there? 14. With the current referee shortage in all sports because of parents I'm going to focus on basketball referee. I had no issue throwing out multiple parents when I was 18 the field is now perfect for me to go on a tear. If someone gets shot by a parent I would bet 3-1 it's going to be me because I don't put up with shit. I get pleasure at putting these idiots in place. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  15. In the early 2010's we always won at wet. Now we win at dry. It's poetic in a way. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  16. I've trained my 8 1/2 year old to love the indoor cold Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  17. I should also state that whether global warming is 100% due to humans or not, it has no bearing on my cost benefit analysis for my family nor my issues with future model predictions. I want to remove that flash point from what I said above. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  18. Both sides seem to be great at ignoring people like me. Who believe the earth is warming, but have severe misgivings about future model predictions as well being extremely against solutions offered due to the cost/benefit tradeoff for my family, yet wishing there were more strict regulations regarding local pollution. We may be quiet but there are more of us than one assumes Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  19. I think an extremely difficult concept in this day and age is scientific definition versus vernacular definition. From a average mean standpoint over the last 130 years I'm sure this summer was in the top 1/3rd warmest. Try telling that to people on the street they are going to think you are gaslighting them. You have recency bias with people comparing this summer to those in recent memory, let alone 30 years ago. You also have the lack of 90's, 100's and extended days of, which people use as a true/false test regarding if it was a hot summer. It's a well known fact that our warm records have come mostly at the expense of high mins. Those high mins are almost always due to high humidity, thus mugginess. This summer was doubly weird because of how humid it was for extended periods of time, yet still dry. Usually you could say it was a very muggy summer and it communicate the same message. This summer there really isn't a good way of communicating it. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  20. Is it normally defined as heat after frost? Generally curious if it's definition is very regional and/or temporal? Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  21. Think KMDT might have been the same for a low. Not looking forward to baking at 85 Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  22. I think my comment about lows not counting is being taken out of context some. I of course believe that lows, highs everything matters for record keeping. What I was trying to do is bridge, what at times, seems an enormous gulf between perception of a "hot summer, cold winter, etc", and the actual measurements. It just appeared to me that people weight temperatures at different part of the day differently according to season, and use that as an anchor in their memory for that season. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  23. It wasn't just him though I thought the one lesson we would learn this summer with @Bubbler86 was there can be even extreme variations within a small radius with all kinds of weather. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
