I brought this up before but imagine being a meteorologist in 1959/1960 in Harrisburg. From 1888-1958 the greatest snowfall seen in these parts was 55" in 1918. What odds would you give that within the next 10 years you would see snow accumulate 81.3", 74.7", 60.6", 51.6", 50.5", 48.4"? At the end of that decade half of the top 10 snows ever to hit to that point happened. Besides the years in the 1960's the latest year on the top ten list was 1945. The number 1 snowfall coming into 1960 is currently number 10 on our list. We in fact have been blessed with the greatest winters ever in the past 64 years compared to the 74 years before. I am happy Franklin made a change with OC. With Michigan coaches and boosters falling all over themselves today in who can embarrass their own university more, I think we need to take the time to honor, that to date (and God please don't make me eat these words) Franklin has run an exceptional program at a high standard and clean. He seems open to change and willing to try new stuff. Shit doesn't always work. At least we haven't had to pay a coach $80 million to go away or have a soap opera/drama/porn/criminal undertaking like Michigan. Georgia was extremely lucky with rolling the dice with Kirby Smart. Blue bloods or near bluebloods like Nebraska and Tennessee tried that and ended in diaster. I'm sickened by this all or nothing mentality far more than frustrated with Franklin. I think starting in December I'm going to do a week by week pbp of the greatest Dec/Jan winter this area as ever seen. Starting on December 12, 1960 through February 24, 1961 KMDT, which o believe was at capital city airport at time, recorded snow on the ground. December had 22", January 34", and February 9".
