  1. 99/66 Where did this dry air come from? Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  2. I need to get on social security and move to Maine. They can take my place Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  3. Here are the least amount of precipitation in 92 days starting May 1st ending September 30th. And amazing it's all 1966 so that doubles down on that year being special with heat and drought and it all making logical sense. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  4. I can imagine being in Houston right now with no power and the temperatures and humidity the way they are. The other thing I can imagine is how much money so many restaurants lost because all the food is going bad unless the majority of them have backup power down there. Hilarious seems to not be able to catch a break right now between the deracho widespread power outages and now this hurricane. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  5. @canderson were you able to get in contact with your family? How's the town holding up? Are they without power currently? Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  6. 1966 will never happen again Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  7. I think the 1966 heat makes perfect sense when paired with that brutal drought over the summer. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  8. Lowest 70 day total rainfall from 1900-2023 It definitely could be much much worse Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  9. Yes, but not many days will have the added influence of being on a Southwest side of a accelerating tropical cyclone further accelerating temperature spikes along with added moisture. Throwing the date compared to one on normal daily mean max high is and I think its a good guess Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  10. Regardless, tomorrow might be the worst day of this cursed summer. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  11. Hopefully we get the inch plus. But yes Wednesday especially is going to be hit and miss but the moisture content in the air is there that whoever gets hit is going to get hit hard Sent from my SM-X210 using Tapatalk
  12. It seems like our rain midweek isn't coming directly from the TC, it's coming from a squeeze play between the Bermuda high and the low pressure system the forms from the remnants where the frontal boundary focuses The deep moisture coming in from the Atlantic Ocean Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  13. they at least seem to be under 5 inches of rain right now which means they probably aren't going to be in a bullseye of 10 in plus so that's good Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  14. My heart goes out to @canderson I know from your past posting stats things like this sometimes happen down there with extended outages but I hope and pray they are all safe. What town are they near in East Texas just out of curiosity. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  15. From 1961-1991 it was at Capital City airport. Prior to 61 you can read about the absurd locations and placements in those locations data was kept at. Id have to dig into more of the surrounding areas in general and specifically that June to answer second part further. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  16. What are you at since May 1st? Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  17. Here's for Max alone. We are definitely up there, but there is a bit more variability in the top 10. Plus we aren't anywhere close to even sniffing the big daddy of 1966 Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  18. What town are you closest by so I can try to pull up some close wunderground stations to investigate Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  19. I agree with you. Station based rainfall observations, while nice for historical continuity do a horrible job of portraying ground truth of the surrounding area. I wish they would put a mesh network of solar powered compact weather stations 1 every 5x5 mi box (25 sq mi). So come on counting with its 550 square miles area would have 22 of them. The simple rain gauge on them can act as a ground check for the radar estimates which are not only help develop better rainfall estimate equations but we're allow us to have a lot more accurate records Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  20. 118 in Phoenix the other day Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
  21. KMDT through past 68 days has recorded 8.05". Normal is 8.66" Was the drought was ever so bad to here that someone could walk across the Susquehanna? Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
