  1. I mowed up here at Pit2 yesterday, primarily because I hadn't been up in several weeks. I won't be surprirsed to see some continued growth as it's still super green.
  2. Up at Pit2 for the first time in several weeks. Waking up to 25*. Haven't had close to that at Pit1.
  3. I know there wasn't a lot of it......but regardless it was nice hearing the sound of rain.
  4. That was my old running loop. I really miss that neck of the woods.
  5. It would be much beter if they did the "fall back" on a Sunday night. the extra hour would make that Monday better for most.
  6. Great hearing the rain landing on the dry leaves this morning.
  7. Yes.....I think I ended up with 26". Wire-to-wire SN++ powder.
  8. What's the anniversary of the Roctober storm? One of teh all-timers for GC. I think Mitch who was living in Mass at the time had the JP with over 30.
  9. A decent soaking with even a couple rumbles of thunder overnight here at Pit2.
  10. mowed for the last time yesterday. Leaf blower in a couple weeks and we're done until spring.
  11. Not sure how much rain we got today. Not much, but with a high of only 58, it sure didn'f feel like the last day of summer.
  12. Another pretty dank day. Moreso than yesterday. Farewell, Summer '24. Let the march to winter begin.
  13. Most of us had a stripper dancing in our face. Wiz gets a squirrel, FTL.
  14. And why keep your house painted when you can just sit on your ass and watch football? Dollars to donuts, if you're trying to sell your house you'll mow the lawn.
  15. How do you time spring treatment with using a preemergent? Even though neither has a thin lawn, I have used this in the early spring at both Pit1 and Pit2. I think it really does a great job. That said I'd tempted to use a per-emergent in the spring too. But, I'm afraid to overfertilize if I use the per-emergent too soon. End result is that I've never used the pre-emergent because of that timing concern. https://scotts.com/en-us/shop/grass-seed/scotts-turf-builder-thickr-lawn-sun-shade/scotts-turf-builder-thick-r-lawn-sun-shade-mix.html
  16. I had put down new seed a few weeks ago up at Pit2 which had had a lot of crabgrass (and other non-lawn type grass) appear and was really pleased to see how the seed mix has reclaimed the lawn. Not too sure on when it's best to seed again before the growing season ends and whether it's worth doing any type of pre-winter treatment. I'm always leery of putting down fert......don't want to burn anything.
  17. so between today and the end of the month, we lose 40 minutes of days. Patriots last night.....comfy temps coming up . Pete must be nearing peak.
