  1. Sunny sauna east of the river. Upper 30’s from Erving to Worcester. edit: temp spiked here just now to 32*. Still snowing at a good clip, though lightening and flakes are down to 'standard'.
  2. That’s the same threshold they use in CT.
  3. Thanks. Missing one of this season’s main events blows.
  4. Good for him--customers, ftl. What a difference in SNE today. I was just down in Worcester. Sun shining, 39*, lawns inspiring dreams of a lawn thread. Back at home, 27*,ripping fatties with about an inch on the deck.
  5. Thanks. From what I read, that’s recommended for smart houses. I’m not exactly sure what that means, but I’m pretty sure this house isn’t smart. I know for certain the new owner isn’t.
  6. Perhaps the worst week of the winter for me to be away. Me, ftl.
  7. Anyone have recommendations for home security (aside from Smith & Wesson)? Need to get one for the new digs. Kind of a 'welcome to your new life' situation.
  8. Box is pit-friendly: Tuesday Snow likely, mainly after 7am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 32. Southeast wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible. Tuesday Night Snow. Low around 21. Southeast wind 6 to 9 mph becoming west after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible. Wednesday Snow likely, mainly before 10am. Partly sunny, with a high near 23. West wind 8 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Then, maybe the mild-up to begin February will inspire good early season tips in the lawn thread. 12*
  9. I was just envisioning a 1997redux with us getting walloped at a point when no one gives a crap.
  10. I'm not sure if these two statements are at odds, but especially at this point of the winter I would call anything that includes an 8" in the range a win.
  11. What map is that? Oh, to live on the Tug. 'tis the season of systems moving north and west as they approach. Beware the late shifts.
  12. I picked up my daughter in Marion yesterday--not a pretty site. Actually, winter was absent on the bulk of the trip, ftl.
  13. We lost several inches, but a full-coverage, several inch glacier remains. Surprisingly, even the stonewalls managed to keep snow in some areas. Most of the deck (which I had not shoveled) melted--I'll take that as a win.
  14. For those of us with piss-poor memories, what did March 05 do in ORH? I was living there then and am completely blanking. Enjoy whatever happens from this one. I'll be away and when I arrive at midnight Friday/Sat, I imagine the bulk of the cold will have shifted as well.
  15. I find such dreams omit the reality of bugs.
  16. Anyone clinging to life support best not look at the 06 GFS.
  17. I'm bummed I'll be in SFO all week and miss Tuesday. It looks like I might return Friday night to some cool temps. I'll watch this one unfold from afar.
  18. What a shitload of rain that was today. Walking out to the woodpile was like walking through 6" of gross. At least it's still white. At least now that we've dipped into the 20's I can slip out instead of sink on my way for wood.
  19. Looking at the here and now, we're getting decimated here. The pack will still be there, but it's taking beating. RN+ and 47*. I'm hopeful it melts off the deck though since I hadn't shoveled that.
  20. There was a fair amount of nagging concern that our incredibly rainy year was going to flip to a 'pay the piper dry period'. Any of those concerns have since been allayed by the incessant string of multi-inch events that continue to unfold. Still unfolding as rain, ftl.
