  1. That's a great picture. The 'waterfall' is just like the downslope from ORH to Tolland.
  2. Thanks, Kevin. I'll be in Bath, ME. Also, I can't find the log-in information from last year. Can you send that along? Thanks again for all your work with this!
  3. JSpin once again out of of the gate with a commanding lead! He'll be at 24" before most of the list actaully makes a post above a T.
  4. Thanks as always for this, Kevin. Winter would not be the same without it!! I'm in again--though I'm going to reporting from a new location this year.
  5. Over 30 hours of continuous snow at this point. I'm not sure if we can claim "days and days", but "days" works.
  6. Congrats, Ray--that's awesome. Makes for a great winter finale. With the exception of an hour or so yesterday afternoon, I haven't been able to see across the river since the snow started. No idea of accumulations. We've probably received close to 10" since the end of the day yesterday. Snowing nicely now, progged daytime accumulations today of 1-3".
  7. We even has some pretty healthy waves coming in. I'm not sure what the winds are, the statement that was issued a couple hours ago said up to 50mph gusts. Nice. Congrats to you. Looks like you positioned yourself just right--just to your west not so much. Ripping here.
  8. Great--I'm glad s/he is a spotter. It's going to be tough to get anything accurate. I've been in 1/4 visibility for what seems like hours and I have no snow on my car, a road that's mostly snow-free and a deck that doesn't have a flake.
  9. Getting smoked down here. Little to show for it with the howling winds I have no snow on the deck, very little knew snow in the yard and the street it blown clear. I hope they're getting good measurements away from the water.
  10. Beautiful shot. It's just dumping big flakes here at Pit2. Meanwhile Pit1 is getting rocked under that band. FTW in both places.
  11. FTW at Pit2: ...Snowfall rates will reach 1 to 3 inches per hour late this morning... A band of very heavy snow in the Gulf of Maine will continue to rotate to the northwest towards the coastline this morning. Blizzard conditions are expected with winds gusting to as high as 50 mph, leading to near zero visibilities and whiteout conditions. Expect significant blowing and drifting snow with very heavy snow continuing through the afternoon hours.
  12. IT's been ripping here for about 2 hours with the wind howling. Deck, car and street are all blown free of snow. I hope people can measure someplace to see what actually comes down. No measurements will work here. Looks like Pit1 and Hippy are doing great in this. SN+ and 29* at Pit2
  13. That's one helluva rate. Snow's just started here; strong winds. 31*
  14. Nice to see that narrow weenie band on the Pit. Hopefully the heavy stuff from Scooter through RI can inch back to Gynx and Kevin. Looks like Pawcatuc through SRI is taking it on the chin. 27.4* at the Pit--should be dry there. I can live with that. The probabiliies table looks to have me maxing out between 21-25". Looks like the flakes should be starting here in an hour or so. Winds cranking. I'm expecting very little snow to measure here. This will be blown up the road.
  15. Patiently awaiting first flakes. Look to be about another 1.5-2 hours away. Meanwhile, the wind is already cranking here at Pit2. It's nice to have a blizzard warning--something we're not too accustomed to in GC. Warm. 32*
  16. Im hoping gor the best. I have about 3 mile view looking north up the river. Im keeping my fingers crossed.
  17. How much did you measure, Chris? It's predominately qpf, though. That said, we're now hiavng the best snow of the storm--at least since 5:00a.m. If it keeps up a while this could get us over the hump to reach advisory level.
  18. It is what it is. FWIW, BOX has updated it's snowfall forecast map for what is likely the last time. I don't know what they're thinking with the amounts they're showing out here. My ZFP is also calling for 12-16". A quick look out the window and at the radar makes me shake my head.
  19. I was worried going to bed last night, the radar returns hitting a wall as they headed up here were tell-tale of a bust. Mets and others saying not to worry since it's really not going to be firing up until 06z gave me hope. At least I can now make it from Thanksgiving until probably February without using my snowblower.
  20. This is an utter failure in GC. I don't know if we'll achieve advisory level snow. At least its breezy so the couple inches that came down can blow around a little. If it weren't so funny to bust so drastically, I'd really be bummed. I'll probably get more Thursday night/Friday than I get from this. This winter has diminished to a D- at this point out here. Sucky, sucky, sucky. When can I open the pool?
  21. LOL--Messenger's 'in-storm' pbp freaks me out everytime. I become convinced I'll only get flurries.
