I think it's just the worst of the wind posts.

Just now looking at the tree situation here. We've got a few very tall pines to the west of the house. Given we're on a bit of a hill that slopes to the west, these are higher than any trees or structures up-wind. Clearly they've made it through similar/worse over the course of their lives.

Plus, I've decided to forego buying a snow-blower which also introduced possibilities.

GEFS showing a quite a few members WAY east of the op and mean for the weekend. Like outside the benchmark. They're also showing two campus with respect to Wednesday. Once concentrated cluster over Buffalo, one cluster concentrated quite a ways NE of there. Not sure if there's any impact on what we see from that--or if perhaps its just a timing thing.

When had people cancelled winter last year before it wouldn't end? Sure won't be the first time the EC has caved to the GFS this year.

ORH (+300' and 1.25 mile away from me) just checked in at 30*. Not sure how it is here in the lowlands. I'll find out soon enough. Time to head out with the dog.

FWIW, I think I'm going to pass on a snowblower, and the plow folks are not able to pick our place up at this point. I have my shovels handy if needed.

Yeah--I would have been surprised. I hadn't realized there weren't any on the street until I noticed them running along the back boundary.

The only shot we have for us to have a series of sizeable snow events is if I opt to NOT buy a snow-blower. Given the date, I'm tempted to postpone until next year--though perhaps I can get an end-of-the season blow-out blitz deal.

Yup. And almost everyone was dismissing the GFS and riding the EC. We all know how wrong that decision was. Meanwhile, I just realized our power lines run along our back boundary. As there are no utility poles on the street I thought perhaps ORH had run things underground since I had last lived here. Not sure what that means for outages, but I imagine there is less effort to keep trees pruned when it requires going on folks' properties than it does when they're on the street.

Well, the Pit was sold yesterday. Hanging in Westboro last night while we wait for our purchase to get recorded. Then, bring in the movers. I am beat!!!! It looks like I've missed diddly on the board during my move. This weekend will allow me to see what types of leaks exist in the new house.
