  1. First close strike---guessing 1/2 mile to the east.
  2. Nice refreshingly cool wind. If nothing else, I'll count that as a win.
  3. Out near Hubby. At 405 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Shirley to near New Braintree, moving east at 10 mph. These storms downed two trees in Gardner. Lots of thunder and darkening sky here at the Pit. Here's to hoping.
  4. Looks like 40-45 dbz sitting on Hubby's head. Distant thunder here, but it only appears to be making little movement.
  5. Just heard a couple rumbles here. Too soon to be sure, but that may well be headed this way. 1953 on the way through the door.
  6. Not sure where you're getting that. The noon report is showing 83*.
  7. 80/72 at ORH. Just got in from a run. Sucked.
  8. What's the water behind you? About to brave the 78/71 elements with an ill-timed run.
  9. Here's the difference between a Chamber photo from Chatham and a couple of photos from Tolland's Chamber.
  10. Just wait. I'm sure those older than I on this board are saying the same to me even more loudly. On another note, really glad I got the mowing done last evening instead of today. Note to self to continue doing that on Fridays rather than using a Saturday for it.
  11. I'm going to weigh-in on the whole COC thing. What would be the photo on a COC brochure? Ideal day of a season in season. 1) in summer, the COC brochure would have crystal blue skies, green lawns, white sands, no one has broken a sweat in a photo. This brochure hits in April. 2) fall would have people in their LL Bean fleeces picking apples or carrying 3 logs of firewood into their cabin. Unbelievably vibrant foliage. This brochure hits in August. 3) crystal blue skies on a ski-slope. A subtle bonus is a stake revealing spectacular depth in a brochure that comes out in October. This brochure is out on Nov. 1. 4) close up of daffodils because there are no other good images of spring in New England. The photo will always reflect the quintessential image of the season. It absolutely varies by month/season. It will definitely have a picture of a couple next to a wood stove. It will definitely NOT have one of people sitting next to an air conditioner. No one is ever uncomfortable. They neither shiver nor sweat, and all the women are hot. That's what COC is all about, Charlie Brown.
  12. Nice. How long have you had a place up there? You need to be up there in the winter sending Lunenburg-esque reports!
  13. Where in Maine? the conditions on my run sucked, but at least it had become cloudy to minimize the sun.
  14. Why would anyone hire someone who they think will be a problem? I don't hire people with demonstrated ability if I don't think they will be positive addition to my company (team). I view the need for competency and chemistry in my hires.
  15. And, I wouldn't mind the $39M shoes he wore during the last 3 years of his contract. $$$$
  16. What the hell, Jerry--what's race have to do with his stats? He rode the pine because he could no longer deliver wins. And teams didn't want him because he couldn't deliver wins.
  17. Well politics aside, most would agree he sucks. Meanwhile, watering the new lawn to offset the impact of the heat today. Weather permitting, I'll be mowing it Saturday. Meanwhile about to go out for a hot run.
  18. He has the right to say it. And I have the right to say he's a tool. And he is. This one is so off I don't' know where to start.
