  1. Perhaps we can start a string of 'things clicking in 10-14 days' similar to what we had through the winter.
  2. We have two chestnut trees (they're behind the garage in an overgrown area so they hardly are even noticed. I only did because I saw their blossoms. I'm not sure if they're american chestnut or horse chestnut. I'm no intending to walk through the poison ivy to find out.
  3. It does the trick! I'm happy we have some cool (or at least not hot) wet weather the next few days to help with the germination. I have quickly accepted that any efforts to keep her from walking/peeing/pooping in the seeded area are doomed to fail.
  4. Thanks! I wish I could take credit for it, but we hired out for it. If I didn't have a wedding to pay for I'd be up for getting more plants.
  5. We're getting there. Now the watering and waiting....Looks better in real life.
  6. With a neiwly seeded lawn, I am pleased to see the frequent rains being forecasted and the absence of high heat. Let's get this grass started. Pictures to come in the lawn thread.
  7. What a perfect COC afternoon it was. Felt like early October.
  8. .42 with what looks like a little bit more still to come. Not a big deal, but at least no need to water anything.
  9. 75/44. Unless we're comparing to winter, doesn't get much nicer.
  10. I'll let you know if we ever buy one.
  11. Nice. Only .14 here in ORH. The sun's broken out--perhaps we'll wind up with a more sunny day than anticipated. On another note, I'm going to start buying stuff just for this. https://www.foxbusiness.com/business-leaders/amazon-announces-prime-air-begin-delivering-packages-via-drones-within-months
  12. Clearing along the back fence took place yesterday. I think the roc garden will disappear today. Not sure if the intent is to have everything done today or not. I'm guessing they might still need another day. Looks like a string of COC will accompany the new seeding. I was hoping I wouldn't need to do a lot of watering myself. Alas.
  13. Based on the the deviation range of Davis stations, I would say the bigger issue would more likely be placement than calibration.
  14. there was another one on my deck yesterday. I haven't noticed any on our oak or evidence of eating. Might get a better idea once the landscapers clear out a lot of overgrown crap along our back fence. Supposedly, the work begins today. I'm psyched.
  15. With new lawn going in, I pray.
  16. Nope---this is before any work started. The circular area is where they once had a pool. They're going to take out that crappy raised garden and regrade so we have a slope rather than a 4' cliff. Hopefully the grass will come in quickly once it's planted.
  17. Well, the disaster of a back yard project is about to begin.
  18. One on the deck and one on the front porch.
  19. You ran, but not before you took the picture. I saw my first two gypsies today.
  20. Thanks! Nope Not sure what this means....I think they're individual leaves. Thanks for the insights guys. I'm glad I wasn't way off base with my dogwood guess.
