  1. Failed to hit 80 at the Pit.....topped at 79*. I'll chalk that up as a win. 77* now.
  2. 79 at the Pit. We'll see if we hit 80. Not sure when the 'hot time of day' is at this point in the year. I'm guessing it's right around now, perhaps a smidge earlier.
  3. Off-topic.....there's a pretty neat show of WW II planes at ORH this weekend. I went yesterday. I tell ya, after the feeling of claustrophobia while crawling through a B-17, I don't think I'll ever complain about someone putting their seat back on a CRJ again. To think my uncle was a navigator on one of those when he was only 17......one of the many who lied about their ages to enlist.
  4. I won't go as far as saying "should", but with respect to this transient mild-up, today's probably the best chance of it. 75* here at the Pit.
  5. We're going to need a bigger paddle-board.
  6. We've tried to warn them........the upper 70's/80* temp this weekend and the highs in the 60's next week will be unbearable. Happy Friday, everyone!
  7. We did it.....went to 39* for about 30 seconds. Now back to 40.
  8. Not yet, though I still hope. Made it to 40*, now up to 41*. ORH managed 42* so far. And with the first 30's, Ray emerges. A sure sign of the change of seasons.
  9. 48* at 8:00 at mi casa. Not too bad. Not sure if we'll get 30's but we won't miss by too much.
  10. how'd that torch-look in August play out? dp of 39*. best water the grass
  11. It really has been with a few more to go before a comfortable mild-up follows. No big deal. It seems that nearly every 10-days out depiction has been a bust for about the last year. Winter and summer alike.
  12. Just got back from a walk at the Quabbin....just beautiful out there. Up to 71* here at the Pit.
  13. Raining and a whopping 63*. I'm glad I punted my Quabbin time til tomorrow.
  14. The family room was once a porch. It has two walls that are entirely windows. At least it has basement below it. FWIW, the stove here is a gas one so easy to use to take off the chill and turn off. Plus no mess. That said, I do miss cutting and splitting wood. Up to 56* now.
  15. For the first 13 days of September at ORH. 1 day of 80* 4 days of 70* or higher 8 days < 70*
  16. It was 44* (low) at mi casa when I came down at 4:00a.m. It then climbed from there to 49* by 5:30.
  17. First morning for the stove. Came down to a 58* family room. Need to get that chill off.
