  1. LOL. His disappearances are short-lived in the winter. The allure of a 10-day threat is just too strong. On the plus side, he'll be able to spend Saturday washing the rain stains off his truck.
  2. Let's start the parade of "in 10-day pattern change" that we had last year. That one never got old. I'm not speaking of rarity--I'm speaking of the delta. No need to dwell anymore on it though.
  3. I could have used this in my post that listed the gamut of things the pre-season storm thread included: Someone clinging to an RPM run and claiming "all is not lost".
  4. Crying while eating Halloween candy.
  5. Not really, Jerry. 23 in ORH vs. 4 in SVT? I'd put that at least in the mostly sunny vs. mostly cloudy realm.
  6. Man what a gradient between N/C NE and SNE. Man-winter vs. Meh-winter. Let's hope that's not the snow gradient we see this year.
  7. On the bright side, it will be a nice brisk weekend to continue on leaf duty.
  8. Every failed snow event is bridge-worthy. We just climb out of the river at the first scintilla of the next event. That's what we do.
  9. Another "pre-season' lesson: When you wake up to 19 new posts, don't bother looking anymore. It was fun to see snow icons in the forecast for a couple of days. They're now stowed away for some other day.
  10. Didn't miss that at all.....it then goes on to say they're calling it the GFS. Reading comprehension, ftl.
  11. I think this says they're still calling it the GFS, it's inherited the GFS moniker. That almost reads like a Tip post. Congrats, Chris and Dave.
  12. I can only hope this is a 'north of the pike/outside of 495 deal. Trends are not our friend. I'm in the running for a position up in Bangor. Too bad I'm not up there this week.
  13. Well this thread was in fact a good training one. What did we get? The full progression: 1) claims of jumping the gun for starting this on Saturday 2) rising weenies as both Will's and Scooter's needles appeared to be getting threaded 3) Continuous bashing/disgust of the GFS, 4) Tip providing posts that only get 25% read because they're too long and with words no one understands 5) EC solid in the lead-up and then..... 6) These always come north. SNE enjoys a cold rain with some flakes at the end and congrats PF/JSpin/Jeff. 7) Fears rise that this is indication of another gradient season.
  14. Let's all say it together: "These always come north". Congrats PF - Jeff. I might need to head to Pit2. Gradient winter incoming.
  15. My dog is not like that. If she has food, she eats. Regardless of time, daylight.
  16. SNE might actually run ahead of JSPin for about 48 hours this season. Of course, that's still in question.
